Imperial Multiplayer Era - version 0.17 released

apart from the swordsman and bowrider lines, I haven't updated anything, and I believe that they were covered (not by name, but as a group) in the chagelog in the 0.9 changelog (not put in by me) when it says, Arendians T-Coloured.turin wrote:Now, I think that Ranger M has also done some graphical updates for the Arendians, but he hasn't updated the changelog, so...
unfortunately since then I have been doing other things too, which were ment to be on the side, but grew in size, the dwarvish castle and a new avatar, which is being bloody difficult to make for no apparent reason, Oh well, should be worth it in the end.
*Crosses fingers and hopes that it turns out well.*
A little on the low side of damage, but with some Warriors for cover (the most spamable unit), he can swoop in and do job at night (then again, everyone only do their job at night, it's like glass Undead). The Raindancer seems weak to me. He does good damage, at least in the most recent version (6-3 is better than 5-3), but he dies really easy. But maybe I just don't know how to use him.
At first i though cavalry would destroy Sidhe, until i saw how much damage the Warriors could get in

I meant changing it to bow, with 3 attacks. If he is a wanderer, he must hunt right?. Poisoned spear and arrows don't seem bad for that. I guess he uses a halberd to only do 2 melee attacks, so i thought he could be a reliable ranged option. He already has a ranged spear attack; what if it was just made more powerful?

Perhaps. Try out the current version of the IE (0.10) and tell me how it works.Cuyo Quiz wrote:A little on the low side of damage, but with some Warriors for cover (the most spamable unit), he can swoop in and do job at night (then again, everyone only do their job at night, it's like glass Undead).

Well, in 0.10, he has three strikes on ranged and melee (5-3 5-3 lvl 1, 6-3 9-3 lvl 2, and something similar level 3) and no poison on level 1, and has skirmish again. (I might ask Raven if I can add back poison on level 1... although a recruitable unit with poison and skirmish might be overpowered, unless done really carefully).Cuyo Quiz wrote:I meant changing it to bow, with 3 attacks. The Wanderer is looking good, now it can swoop in and impale with success, while melee is less used since most units can retaliate that. The Raindancer also works in dusk/dawn too, so is plenty more versatile.
The Marauder Crusher losses some with charge, having only 2 attacks, if it is going to be changed to charge, maybe he can get one more attack?.
On another topic, i just discovered how ridiculous Auxilia can get when they have a Decurion behind and it is day, they swoop in for a great 10 damage. I think i just found out the glass cannon technique of the faction, and it works on forests too.

Well, the eventual plan is for him to get a "rage" attack, which is like mini berserk - instead of prolonging the combat for 30 rounds, it does it for 2 or 3.Cuyo Quiz wrote:The Marauder Crusher losses some with charge, having only 2 attacks, if it is going to be changed to charge, maybe he can get one more attack?.

Maybe having the Auxiliar being neutral?. It is not like all the auxilia are solid Lavinian breed with training, and they are already a good support for Legionnaires with 5-3 and better forest defense.

I'm not sure f the lavinians are ove rpowered, underpowered, or both.
Man for man the units die easy enough when I use them vs the AI.
BUT when used well (centurions and signifiers supporting a wall of legionarres with a few funditors and velites that sits defensively to gain exp from advancing foes and which then uses steadfast once levelled up to do this more effectively) they can hack through an army with few losses.
So. Both over and underpowered, depending on usage.
This is from the before the update though, because my computers internet STILL isn't working. I hate comcast.

Oh no look out its a ray gun.
You should move to avoid the rays
the rays are coming out of the gun
if you are hit by the rays
you will be shot by the rays
the rays are fast so you should be fast to
can you win against the fast rays from the gun?

Sorry, for the late posting, been away due to birthdays and stuff...
@Turin: I don't play bad against the Sidhe, I'm the best player at my school, and planning and spreading Wesnoth to the Vegies for more conquest, Also, definately change the wanderer to poison level 1
I have still got to do a lot of editing to the Wild Elves, I have done some more changes to the Wild Elves, i.e Health and cost which is some of the things you have been mentioning and with these changes the Wanderer definately need poison level 1, and now they stand more of a chance against the lavinians except for the archers and slingers

It shall be done. The Raven wrote:Also, definately change the wanderer to poison level 1
Do you want me to set up SVN access for you so that you can just commit the changes, instead of feeding them through me?

read the topic, it has the history and a map (in fact the histoy file in the imperial era folder is a good reference source too).
basically the imperial era is set on the old continent, and it happens before Wesnoth was founded.
and there is currently only one campaign set on the old continent, Invasion of Arendia. So you should have a lot of freedom (within what has been said here)
I would suggest reading the last few pages to catch up on the basic storyline of the era.
