Imperial Multiplayer Era - version 0.17 released

Maybe some sditing can be made on some Kedari to make them Airiya?. I don't know how much it would take, but AFAIK, they are in the same status as the Dardans' graphics, which is none too, right?.

Dunno about that.
Anyway, I agree partially about tcolor. I don't plan on tcoloring the Kedari any more than they are now. But tcolor to the extent the Kedari are tcolored is actually IMHO more realistic than no tcolor at all. The armies need some way of telling each other apart.

IMHO it seems a little out of place to have the Sidhes on the old continent, given the fact they were originally supposed to be allied to other elves.

Well they should be in the Imperial Era for the reason of them being in Ranger M's campaign, but Thunderblade also wanted them to be somewhere on the New Continent (wesnoth) as well, though I am now in charge i kinda like the idea of them being in there

Anyway, we'll see what the current devs of the Sidhe say. If they say no, I won't put them in the era.

I believe this is what happens in the campaign Invasion of Arendia, which places the Sidhes on the Old Continent. That was my inspiration for the Sidhes being in the Imperial Era.Noyga wrote:Well they could have travelled after all ...
The humans did travel from the Old to the Great continent, so why not having the Sidhes (or a group of them) travelling from the Great to the Old continent ?

That was the original premise of the Sidhe in my campaign, although they were outcasts from the rest of the elves (although which elves isn't specified). The elves in my campaign are pretty flexible, for now, although their history will probably be revealed within a scenario or two.
But how did they get there, did they start there? were they outcasts from the great continent? did elves originate on the old continent, and the rest moved to the great continent?
I can easily fit my campaign around the set up in my version of the map, or if they didn't originate in the old continent.

I would suggest:
Elves originated on the Great Continent, while humans originated on the Old. However, early in the Frost Elves' history, they separated from the Wood Elven and High Elven brethren and moved West, across the northern ice, and settled in the tundra to the north of the Marauders. The Sidhe Elves are not outcasts from the Great Continent elves, but from the Frost Elves.
They were expelled sometime around 100 YW (although they wouldn't use that notation), and settled in the forests east of the Marauders, north of the Arendians. This was across the bay from where the Frost Elves lived. The Lavinian Empire was still strong at this point, so the Sidhe Elves didn't dare travel further south - and in any case, there were no forests south of where they lived.
[edit]
OK, I've gotten confirmation that the Sidhe Elves are going to be in the Imperial Era.
The plan is this:
1. We add any new units required for the Marauders and Lavinians - I dunno about the Marauders, but for the Lavinians, that means finishing the Ballista branch graphics and adding a new level 1, the Nemidian infantryman.
2. We balance three three-faction era of the Marauders, Lavinians, and Sidhe Elves to the MP dev's satisfaction.
3. The Imperial Era is added, the MP devs probably do some more balancing tweaks.
4. We begin adding the remaining factions one by one, making sure it stays balanced as we do.
5. We add water units for the factions.

Not sure how much of the Sidhe is based on actual Celtic legends of the Sidhe and how much on everyone's imagination. But in the legends, they
1)Didn't really seem to exist in the real world...they were in an Otherworld and came and went between this one and the other one when they felt like it.
2)Many legends hold them as being the original inhabitants of Ireland, before even the Celts came...before any humans were ever there, the Sidhe were there. The other version of the story is they lived on atlantis, and just before it sunk/was destroyed they left, and came to the rest of the world...favoring Ireland because it resembled their home of Atlantis, and were most seen in this world around the time of the Celtic Druids.
3)They didn't really have ties with anyone...they were independent...so somehow the idea of them being exiled from the Frost Elves doesn't seem to fit.
Not sure how you want to adapt those old legends into Wesoth, but there you go...

My Idea Of Wild Elves, their on both main continent and this one. They are independent and left the Elves on their own, for distaste of what they did to them
Thuderblade wrote in msn: When Haldric went to council with the Elves the other Member of the Council wasn't asked to come, the sole leader of the Wild Elves. With this he left the Elves and went to Mt. Stormkeep. And defended it from orcish raids and such.
(My Part) then he died and the Wild Elves some getting bored of this land, traveled across the seas to the other continent in hopes of new challenges, they ellected a new leader, but it would never be the likes of the old great leader.
Some elves stayed behind defending their fortress and burial site of their great leader. The ancestors still wanders the forests below, taking life from those who they please and the Wild Elves on top, wish for another great leader to lead them to conquest"
Now thats how I think it should be, any comments?

I like my North Elves idea. If you don't, perhaps we could find a compromise...

As noted in my previous post, the Lavinian Ballista (alternative upgrade to Lavinian Bowman) has been added. Now, we need discussion of balance...
His current stats are:
Hitpoints: 36
Movement: 3
Experience: 54
Level: 2
Cost: 28
Attack: Gladius; 4-3 blade melee
Attack: Ballista; 18-2 pierce ranged
The Lavinian Archuballistarius has also been added, with stats
Hitpoints: 48
Movement: 3
Experience: 100 (AMLA)
Level: 3
Cost: 38
Attack: Gladius; 6-3 blade melee
Attack: Ballista; 24-2 pierce ranged
They're not all that balanced as of yet. That's where this post comes in.
