male-female abilities

Post by tapik »

Hi,
for good translation to Czech I need male and female variants of abilities. In English the Loyal (for both male and female, as all others) could be translated to Czech as verny (he) and verna (her). It is the same for others, such as silny/silna, houzevnaty/houzevnata, chytry/chytra,... I think it will be applicable for all Slavic languages. Does anybody else need this feature, too?

Well AFAIK it would be valuable for Italian, Spanish and French, and probably a lot of other languages.

Portuguese, too in most of them.

I guess all latin languages will require it, as they change a lot of words based on gender.

Good news: there is support for this in GNU gettext. Hint for other devs: look at ngettext.
