my strategy is to kick ass!!
no really with elves versus dwarfs, the key is to actually plan, and don't count on killing them because they are weak to you--they aren't.
1) stay in forests as much as possible!
2)use both shamans and mages--don't have preferences. They serve differnt roles.
*Use shamans to slow, then attack with ranged units, then with actual fighters--but only if you can either kill it with the units or surround it. *Never use the shaman to slow one unit of a whole group--shaman will then die, because 70% defence in forests doesn't help against 3 unslowed fighters and one slow one.
*Use then only if the unit is alone and can be surrounded, or great chance of killing it that turn. This way when it dies you can move units for ZoC to protect units weakened by unit.
*use mages to pick out lone dwarves on mountain ranges, and make sure you can either not be attacked or defend it with other troops.
3)Archers!!!with the exception of thunderers and Poachers at night, they have no good ranged attacks, and many of the most annoying units--ei beserkers, fighters, gryphons--have no ranged attack. Again, make sure not to endanger them by allowing enemy good access to them.
4)Use fighters and woses as shields as possible, and don't underestimate ZoC. Also as traps, to lure opponents into fields or whatever. Fighters are less costly, but woses regenerate.
5) try to keep these alive: shamans, mages, archers--they are weaker than fighters and if used wrong, they die.
6)common sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...please remember that "IT'S" ALWAYS MEANS "IT IS" and "ITS" IS WHAT YOU USE TO INDICATE POSSESSION BY "IT".--scott
