The Lizard riders decided to improve their only flaw by learning the ranged riding skills of their distant kin, they have sacrificed both speed and power by a fraction to improve their one flaw

The infuser and artifacter could also wear somekind of ornament mask to protect their faces from the heat of the forge. It would be kind of dull if the normal and infuser type wizard would just wear robes with differend colour.

A knight that has a shield in one hand and a lance in the other, they have no additional hands to use crossbow. The horseman/knight/grand knight has no missile weapon and he is doing fine. Besides, every unit should have a weakness and missilefire has always been bane to the cavalry.

I was going to use the current wizard pictures for the artifacter and infuser, because they are already red and black and have an artifacty looking weapon which can easily be changed. And it looks meleeish.

The new pictures for the Sorcerer and Warlock will be black and dark blue, and have no staff.

Speaking of which, Neo, can you please slap some quick pictures together for me? A new Sorcerer and Warlock, and a lvl. 3 Lizard Champion please. Warrior King flat out refuses to do it. I might be able to make him, but I want to get the new units out soon. And I can't draw if my life depended on it.

could be possible to branch the Hunter?

Would be nice to have an unit with ambush or nightstalk and one with backstab

(balanced with less hp and less number of ranged attacks respectively)

We are changing the hunters ability to nightstalk. It would still act like cavestalk would, as long as the unit is underground.

okay, here is a crappy half sorcerer. I've been trying to work on the arms, but like i said, i'm no artist. So, any and all go ahead and tackle it and we'll see what we get. Please.

I know you didnt't ask me, but I'll answer anyway :) ranged lizard riders seem out of character of the drow to me :? Imo, the riding lizard archers would shape the battle away from the stealthy approaching and than banging en mass, to a forward scouting/skirmishing/stealing villages thingy. But then, this is not a d'n'd-style game so I may be wrong :)

On the other hand, a slowing 1-3 ranged hand crossbow attack for foot units that would grow into a, say, 3-3 poison attack by lvl 2 or 3 fighter would seem quite apropriate and fitting to the drow :) (perhaps even not overpowering, if the prices are right)

These aren't Drow. :roll:

But I do think a ranged lizard rider would be, if nothing else, overpowered. A unit with that much movement, and a ranged attack, would be really, really good...

a spitting lizard would do.

a single ranged blunt attack

but should be either with less hp or with lesser melee attacks

It's a cool idea, but like turin said, they would be to powerful. The way i wanted the units to balance is they are primarily melee units, the only ranged units would be the magic users and hunters. With the addition of the ranged lizard rider, it would unbalance the race as a whole.

change the lizard line, they are too powerful.

change the wizard line so they have a healing unit, and add a level 4 unit somewhere cause its cool
