Interesting but maybe a bit to repetitive. Try to make some "surprises".

The first music is maybe a bit too sad...
The second starts pretty well, but is always the same...

I'll see if i can get a review in to aid you in your endeavors. Currently compressing old files and monitoring a keyboard in the dishwasher.

The dishwasher makes noise...this makes it difficult for me to hear your song properly. :)

This type of music reminds me of early adventure games like Quest for Glory. There are lots of people out there making adventure games. Maybe they would like to use this stuff.

It doesn't fit what we're doing for Wesnoth, but it has enough merit to work in some kind of video game. You really need to acquire some new sounds though. General midi just doesn't have a place anymore. I know some freeware RPGs still use it though - if you can find one that needs a composer.

Aleksi had some good pointers. He's right.

Actually, except bell sound in Wesnoth1, it isn't General Midi, but synths.

Well, I'm doing this review in between source control checkouts and builds, so don't mind me if I don't explain everything. I try to be verbose (Aleksi isn't, really)

And the general midi is definitely not good. I hear the bell synth, but you need to add some stuff on top of it.

I've seen some Midi to Mod convertors...maybe I'll try converting if you want to send me the midis.

Piano:

Hmm. They're right. It wouldn't be a good campaign song for Wesnoth. You could probably wedge it in there as a post-tragedy scenario, but it's not really 'full' enough (and also a little short).

Towards the end this gets a teense on the repetetive side. It could use a little more surprises, dynamics, etc. You started off really well--but you got lost on the way.

The melody starts to wander a bit about 30 seconds from the end, causing you to lose your stride.

It doesn't seem like you have a lot of panning (stereo effects) in this song. GM may not support it, though.

And this completely reminds me of old Quest for Glory stuff. Maybe it's the GM soundset and the key you're using.

Your harmony is good. Your chord progression passes muster. I like it, but it does need some work.

Wesnoth 1 coming later.
