This is a common mistake, but you should realize that you don't actually have to have a bishop or pope take action against you to be excommunicated. There are several sins that do this automatically. I suspect claiming to be a demon is one of them.

(Note my information on this may not be perfect. I remember it from something I read 3 years ago).

Being out of communion can happen automatically, like getting divorced and remarried, but actual excommunication requires action. I don't know if impersonating the damned counts.

Well, arguably the Pope ad bishops simply acknowledge that someone has excommunicated himself (=seperated himself from the Christian community), but do not throw him out themselves.

So someone who isn't part of the Church can't be excommunicated. You can't leave a group that you're not a member of! So excommunicating unsung, who classifies himself as an atheist, would be pointless.

And yes, there are some sins that excommunicate a Catholic automatically. One of them, for example, is getting an abortion.

Oh! We forgot one:
Wikipedia wrote:The giant penguin is an example of megafauna which is today presumed to be extinct. It is believed to have been approximately six feet in height, and walked the earth some 65 million years ago. The fossilized remains of a giant penguin were found along the shore of the northern island of New Zealand in February of 2006.

In 1948, several people reported seeing what appeared to be a giant penguin at Clearwater Beach in Florida. The huge bird was described as 15 feet tall and supposedly left giant tracks along the beach. During this same period, persons in a boat off the Florida Gulf coast reported seeing an extremely large penguin-like bird floating on the water. These incidents were reported in several newspapers. Later that year, another huge, penguin-like bird was seen by a private airplane pilot on the banks of the Suwannee River in northern Florida.
A penguin the size of a troll is just what this faction needs!

So...

*takes drink*

I'll just wait until a man appears from the skies, is given a horse, then is left to wander the land and conquer on his wake.

Don't worry, i'll also expect Neo to make a giant penguin and maybe even ride it.

Hell, for all that i know, those two could happen at the same time, place, and metaphysics!.

EDIT:
*reads below*
Is Neo low on cheese?.
