Peasant MP Era

Peasant MP Era
I have made an era where only Level 0 units are recruitable (and there is only one by faction).
There are curently 4 factions :
- Loyalists
- Northerners
- Oulaws
- Undeads
I think i will add the Dwarves too.
For the elves, i'm still missing a level 0 unit...
One side effect of this era is that all the units are duplicated in the help.
It's published on the server.

What level 0 unit do the outlaws have?
IMHO, level 0 units for the elves or dwarves would not make much sense. In fact, the Peasant itself is a stretch. And I fail to understand the appeal of an era such as this. (I actually refused to play the first scenario of Northern Rebirth, for a time, because I knew that playing with so many peasants would be so... boring...). Can someone explain it to me?

Using WML, it is possible to get a unit to advance into as many choices as you like, you just have to write eah one in, as in:Kestenvarn wrote:Say, is it possible for a unit to branch in more than two directions on advancement?
Code: Select all
advanceto=UNIT A,UNIT B,UNIT C,UNIT D...........,UNIT ZZZZZZZZ.
If white was black and black was white, what would happen to zebra crossings?
Outlaws have the henchman.
I'm making a bunch of civilians. How about a civilians faction? They really suck though. Statwise and to a lesser extent graphicswise. Shadow made 3 in the middle/bottom left. The top row were some mage hopefuls. The bottom center/right were fmunoz-head-swapping-method derivatives.

Hope springs eternal.

The bottom right one is definitely the best. It's cool!
The guy in the top left is also rather good...

It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.
There several way to play Wesnoth... In this era a part of the game is to upgrade your units (so better play with a low xp setting), in order to be able to kill the enemy leader. You can't rush the enemy territory at the begining of the game since the basic units are slow.
Yes you usually recruit a lot of "peasants" so you make big melees.
This implies a different kind of MP games.
Yes i used the Henchman for the Outlaws.
I now added the dwarves with a level 0 Dwarvish miner (in 0.2).
For the elves i thought about an elf with daggers :

Well in fact i not sure i'll use this, maybe this will be a new level 1 unit

Ah... I was waiting for something like this for a long time... First of all.. The gold setting should be 50 or less and 1GPV (to keep the low powered "a hero will raise" flavor) second of all, There should be 4 level 0 units per a faction, One Cavalry/scout, One infantry/melee, One ranged, And one spell caster. And finally , For, Say, 40 gold, you could recruit a level one unit with leadership that does half decent damage. Now, This will truly rock in large maps, If you will add all of this I truly think it will be an awesome Era.

You can double the price of recruited units to allow to keep the defaults starting values, as may played does, and get the effect you tell.Magus wrote:Ah... I liked the mage but sadly I did not create this Era =P Just hoping Noyga will like my ideas.
Anyway.. Some insight after some playtesting with the Era the way it is right now..
The Undead and the Northerners are far too powerful, The walking corpse is just broken in this Era. Make new level 0 Units for these factions as the default ones are made to be half decent in Default.
The Peasant seems to be just right for the Infantry... But the Dwarves and Outlaws are terribly underpowered.
