The man on the camel is coming along, and the saddle helps too, I think.

The thing with the camel itself is this: the two-hump camel is Bactrian, and Bactria is in the region of modern Afghanistan and Tajikistan. This being an Arabic-type faction, the one-hump camel would make more sense. Also, the Dromedary is faster than the Bactian camel.

So I like the fact that progress is being made on the camel rider, but a one-hump camel really would fit the faction beter.

OK. It looks to me like Garm messed up my guy's right arm when making him white - that, or the original was messed up. In either case, it won't be a problem on my new version.

I've actually put a considerable amount of time into trying to put a saddle on the camel, but I just can't get it to look right. Any reference pictures that are 1. from about the same angle as the unit image itself and 2. have someone riding in the saddle (so I can place the rider in the right location) would be great. ;)

I think it looks decent now. In any case, I'm ready to move on to another unit.

Ifrit!

It was based on Fmunoz's Windherder (or Zephyr, I don't recall which), but it is much more evil looking, which is IMHO in keeping with what an Ifrit is (basically, a demon).

I though the word was efrit and the plural efreet? Or am I thinking of something else?
If white was black and black was white, what would happen to zebra crossings?

Since the word comes from a different language that does not use our alphabet, it can be written a number of ways. Efrit = ifrit, efreet = ifreet, etc.... same with hashashan = hashshashin = hashashin, etc...

The tornado-like-thing is grey to remind you of smoke... IMHO, yellow would lessen the evil vibe this unit has... I can try it, of course...

 Multiple arms on the Ifrit line is basically impossible to get right. I think the reason is that multiple arms anatomically makes no sense.... in any case, I give up. These guys are not getting more arms as they level, unless someone else wants to do the art.

I have no problem with that. I kept the multiple arms only becuase it was part of Azhur's original idea to have a unit that gained arms as it advanced. If it won't be practical, I'm sure no one will mind.

Good. Trying to get four arms to look right was really frustrating. ;)

Can I have a more detailed description of the Salik? A google search turns up nothign specific...

Page four of this thread has some pictures of the Dervish and the Murshid. A Salik should look like a beginner along the same path.

Also, you could try looking up "Murid", which was at one point going to be the name of the level 1 holy man, until Azhur pointed out that "Salik" had the same meaning.

I haven't gotten around to the Salik yet, but here's a Camel Warrior. Is the change of color OK?

I also changed the Camel Rider a bit.

Is there any chance the level 3 name (Cameleer) can be changed? IMHO, it sounds kind of dumb.

I think the darker colored camel looks better. Maybe the level one camel should be slightly darker, too!

"Cameleer" is the level 2 name, "Camel Warrior" is the level 3.

As to whether the name should be changed, isn't "cameleer" the standard English word for someone who manages camels?

Besides, the only alternative I can think of at the moment is "Camel Driver".

I don't know if that is what Cameleer means, all I know is, it doesn't sound like a fighting unit. But we could leave it as-is until no better alternative is found.

I don't have a problem with darkening the other camel, but we should be able to tell the difference between the units by horse color alone.
