I don't think a flag would look nice though. But if you could change the hat into an armoued helmet and give him smaurai armour, I suppose it would look good. If you could put armour on the horse as well, it'd be great!

Really looking forward to that horse samurai!!! :D

Hi there!

I've been watching this post for a while, and am interested in contributing with this faction. Could someone please PM me of it's current status, what needs doing and all?

Anyway, as you were discussing samurai armor and such a while ago, there's a site you must find interesting:
http://www.tozando.com
They sell many things related to martial arts, specially those more closely related to samurai (kendo, iaido, naginata and kyudo). It could provide you with interesting insights for graphics and all... :)
Hope this helps!

Ok! I will contact him soon... :)

Anyway, something that may help people working on the animations:
http://www.kendo-world.com/downloads/index.php
Here you may find kendo and iaido videos. I guess that would help to understand the way a katana is used and give some "conceptual" help on this part of the work...

Thunderblade, I think Seiryu is working on the level 2 samurai horseman, maybe you can do the level 3 one? The level 1 horseman is put up of download by seiryu a few pages back, with great attack animations. :)

I am not on a computer which has the files, so maybe I will send to you tomorrow.

An almost latest- version was up a few pages ago... You can have a look at that for now.

We currently have most of the base images. Just need an arquebusier ('primitive' form of musketeer) to replace the archer now. And also need the graphics to finish off the horseman tree.

http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic. ... &start=255

First post on the page.

And when we finish with the basic suff, maybe add others like the monk and claw dancers.

It's used in the same way... :P
 Anyway, there's Iai there too... There was supposed to be a Iaijutsu line on the beginning, wasnt it?

Ok! I shall give it a try... I was thinking on using some of the kabutos found at Tozando as models, making the horse samurai helmet different from the ground one. However, as I'm also working on the Sidhe, it may take some time...

Anyway, I think this will be funny... :)

Ok, just opened the .cfg and sorted the samurai graphics so that I can start the lvl3 one. Would it be the one on this tree:

Mounted Samurai -> Samurai Bushi -> Daimyo -> Shogun
-> Samurai Horse Archer -> Samurai Master Bowman

So, the Daimyo? I'm thinking about giving him heavy armor, kabuto but no mask, so that the level 4 one may have mask and flag... what do you think?

Also, it uses a katana as melee, right? and for ranged, still a bow?
