I read about Wesnoth on holarse.de, a german linux-gaming-site.
I don't like fantasy very much (I would prefer historical strategy games), but Wesnoth surprised me in a positive way.
So far it's imho the best TBS for linux.

Inside Mac Games mentioned that Wesnoth had reached 1.0 about a week ago. Which is how I found it.

Well, someone mentioned the name on a german board, and that it just turned to version 1.0. So I looked it up, found out that it is what I've previously tried, and tried it again because of this guys' recommendation ;) Only this time I fell in love with it, while before I thought something like "well, hm... aha.. *deinstall*" ;)

It was one of the example games on my OS. The old version, anyway.
