Level 5 Mage

In my Nifian Faction I plan to have Mages that reach level 5! :shock:
I think the unit tree should look like this but would also like a second opinion
thnx.

Level1 Spellcaster->Mage->Arch Mage->Grand Mage
---------------------->Apprentice->Enchantress->Witch->Sorceress
------------------------------------->Druid->Wizard

I think the game would benefit more from a level 0 mage...

Mage Apprentice
- same melee as mage
Cantrip (4-3 magical long)

Would have a lot more use in campaigns than an overpowered mage.

Plus isn't Delfador already level 5? His unit type is Elder Mage and anyone can use it...

If it's for your faction, there's no point in having a poll.

Otherwise: flat-out no.

That should tell you something considering the rarity of naked 'no' answers in a sea of idea denial.

Why would only the female branch reach level 5? And if the level 1 spellcaster could be either male or female, why would the upper levels branch into excusively male and exclusively female lines? I will not vote unless this is clarified.

Also, I like the idea of a level 0 mage apprentice.

it's already hard enough to upgrade mages, why make it more complicated? lvl. 0 units represent races that are weak, like goblin spearmen. Small in stature, mainly used for cannon fodder by orcs. Mages are already weak enough, a lvl. 0 mage would be insane
I speak what's on my mind.

Which is why nothing I say makes sense.

the elder mage is actualy weaker than the arch mage and you would have to somehow code it so the loyalists don't get it and make them even anoyingly overpowered

But that's because delfador is a campaign character! Unless this level 5 female mage is a special character in a campaign, it makes no sense to have it be only female.

Plus, how the heck does the mage choose it's gender at level 2? Is it asexual before that or something?

Umm... mabye he chooses to change his sex to female with magic.

I think that until level 2 the mages come in both female and male and the males can continue being mages or become wizards while the females can remain being mages or become witches.
