Japanese translation

Post by Seiryu »

Guys, if people minded about japanese peoples playing. Well in there are japanese people playing at it. But they're not happy about the translation ( not real script, unreadable caracters, ...). So now I propose one thing.
With my japanese blood I would like to translate the files!

And yes by the way I'm half french and half japanese. But I've got great skills in japanese.

The easiest thing for you to do would be to go to http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/JapaneseTranslation and simply mail the maintainer. He will tell you what you can do and how it works. I am sure your help is welcome.

Generally about the Wesnoth translaion, you can learn the policy and process at
http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/WesnothTranslationsHowTo
and about the tool called GetText at
http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/GettextForTranslators

Also I'm trying to discuss and gather imformation about Japanese translation at
http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/JapaneseTranslation

I would like to ask you to read them first and understand it.

Thank you very much again,

The strings to translate are in the PO files. You need some editor for PO files. (Unless you wish to edit them in Notepad. It is possible, but not recommended.)

This is an example of PO file:
wesnoth/ja.po

I am translator for Slovak language, and I use "poEdit".

And where do I find this "poEdit" program?
