One last thing...

Post by Terpor »

Dave, could it still be possible just one thing: a button in the lobby that would filter the list of games so that you get to see only those with empty spaces (slots) in them. That should be simple, not depending on the server, and would be a great help for the game once we have 10 times more games on the lobby.

And about Ranks... This thread was never supposed to be about them. I don't like them that much either. Please, use another to talk about ranks :)

To the raking: I am for it but only for informative use. However, i do not know how it should be made:). At least it can be made like number which will show number of MP games played / number of winning games (eg. 100/50 means player played 100 games and 50 won). However, this system would need some registration(maybe it can be used one from this forum)

To the lobby: This system of lobby is not so perfect i think, becuase i cant see which players are playing in which game.

I dont understand why someone may want ranks, but maybe im just odd one (its possible), can somebody explain me?

I think seeing wich players play in wich game is really good idea.

EDIT: Typo corrected.

yeah i like idea of rank level :) like at blizzard's battlenet. It is very handy and new players will not get mad as when they r losing with old maniacs :)

This is already simple to do. A single click on "turns" will sort the games with the newest ones coming out on top. The newest of course being those that haven't started yet. Then you can go through them, checking where you can join.

Of course, most sensible people wouldn't just join any game...

The problem with separating players by rank is that it doesn't work - some players will deliberately spoof the system so that they can beat up newbies over and over again, and when they get into a more advanced league, they'll start a new identity (which is a novice of course - it hasn't played any games yet).

It's kind of sad to think that someone would do this, but it seems to make up about 50% of Battlenet, maybe more.

Even if it did work, wouldn't it benefit a new player to play an experienced player once in a while and observe his tactics/strategies? (Unless they are covered by fog. Is it possible to save a replay in multiplayer, and is fog disabled when viewing replays?) Of course it's fun to have evenly matched battles that you have a chance of winning, too. So playing opponents of a variety of skill levels is not bad.

I think we should respect that.
