Re: Sync game data and save files with Steam between Linux and Windows

Thank you – that sounds awesome! Will the change propagate on its own, or should I do something to reset my installation?

Re: Sync game data and save files with Steam between Linux and Windows

Can you provide the build information? Instructions for that are listed in https://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?t=25660 Certainly. The full report goes: The Battle for Wesnoth version 1.16.6 x86_64 Running on Apple macOS 12.6.2 (21G320) x86_64 Distribution channel: Steam Game paths ========== D...

Re: Sync game data and save files with Steam between Linux and Windows

Yeah, that sounds weird indeed.

So it would seem that Wesnoth for Mac/Steam is saving its files in the intended place, but that Steam is synching files with another directory? Is this something hard-coded, or can I change either the save or synch directory manually, do you know?

Re: Sync game data and save files with Steam between Linux and Windows

macOS should work though. What the path to your saves on macOS? Sorry for the late reply; Christmas got in the way. On my Macbook (running Wesnoth through Steam), the "Saved games" path is: /Users/pinnerup/Library/Containers/org.wesnoth.Wesnoth/Data/Library/Application Support/Wesnoth_1.1...

Re: Sync game data and save files with Steam between Linux and Windows

Indeed, sadly this issue seems still to be there. I've just recently installed Wesnoth 1.17 via Steam on both my Linux desktop and my Mac laptop, and even with the appropriate options checked ("Keep games saves in the Steam Cloud for Battle for Wesnoth") the saves do not seem to sync. That...

Re: Sync game data and save files with Steam between Linux and Windows

I'm not sure if this is the same bug or a similar one, but I'm finding that my save games are not syncing between Wesnoth on my Mac and Wesnoth on my Windows and Linux/Ubuntu (all installed through Steam). That is, the Linux and Windows versions seem to work together, but Wesnoth on my Mac has an en...

Re: Sync game data and save files with Steam between Linux and Windows

Was there ever a solution to this? I recently installed Wesnoth (1.16) through Steam on my Ubuntu 21.10, and it doesn't seem to sync anything to the Steam cloud, even though the option is enabled. If I open Steam and go to Battle of Wesnoth and choose the Settings gear, under "STEAM CLOUD"...

Re: To Lands Unknown 3.0 for 1.14

If I may venture a comment: The graphics are generally awesome, but sometimes they are so fancy that they're hard to comprehend. In the scenario "Siege of Mag Magar" it's very hard to tell from the graphics which squares are unwalkable and which not – and of course this is very important f...

Re: To Lands Unknown 3.0 for 1.14

Just got Wesnoth 1.14 and discovered this campaign, that I'd never seen before. It is astonishingly well made indeed! Excellent job!

Is there any walkthrough or anything like that available anywhere? I've not been able to find one.
