Re: 1.20 balance change for Core Eras and Units made by the Balance Team
If I've broken any forum rules then I submit to moderation by a forum moderator. Until that time, especially since you don't care anyway, I will respond to people as I see fit.

What is that response? I'm literally being @'d and I'm responding. Not to mention that I'm not stopping anyone from posting.

Re: 1.20 balance change for Core Eras and Units made by the Balance Team
@Mirion147 Please read my posts more carefully. I directly wrote in my point 1 “change a club to an axe at all unit levels ” Together with the arguments in point 2, this does solve the described problem with RIPLIB, which is certainly present if a unit changes its damage type within its ruler. You ...

Re: 1.20 balance change for Core Eras and Units made by the Balance Team
While I still think having a unit tree that goes from club to axe, to club is weird, if there's a unit that maintains axe and a unit that switches to club(outlaw), I think that puts this within an acceptable position to test.

Re: 1.20 balance change for Core Eras and Units made by the Balance Team
Using both impact and pierce in the same attack means that the only thing changing is the damage stat, you would need no other art, there would be no issue with riplib, and there would be no lore problems. That's why I suggested it. Blade in this situation is a balance stat that does not hold true t...

Re: 1.20 balance change for Core Eras and Units made by the Balance Team
I support changing Footpad's damage type, as this change has been thoroughly tested in high level play over the years. In my opinion, the optimal solution is to make a separate unit and keep the old Footpad in the core for not to harm existing content in the mainline and addons. This begins the sep...

Re: 1.20 balance change for Core Eras and Units made by the Balance Team
This change may go a long way for balance but it causes some other problems. The lore of the poor folk taking up clubs and becoming proficient enough to be a level 1 unit while not being of means to have any real metalwork done (sword/dagger) until they are able to finally have access to a mace at l...

Re: The need for a Balance Team
I once again want to stress that having a large portion of a team comprised of members who are already part of another team feels overly like a stacked deck. It would be my opinion that members of this team should come for various groups and viewpoints to best encompass Wesnoth's full community. Out...

Re: The need for a Balance Team
If you guys do not trust Pentarctagon decisions, just make him not the next PM. In the meantime, he is the PM and acts as he thinks is the best for Wesnoth. It's completely reasonable to complain when you disagree with something. But in this case it's been taken to far. It has been announced that t...

Re: The need for a Balance Team
You clearly don't trust the people in charge, and that's fine. The problem is, they are in charge lol

Re: The need for a Balance Team
I think you guys need to let the people who have their positions use their authority to do their jobs the way they want to do them.

Re: The need for a Balance Team
I, for one, don't really think it's necessary to disclose how the decisions were made. Whatever reasons are considered are the reasons of those involved and that's that. There is no less of an opportunity to make your voice heard or to propose PR's to change issues you see. If anything, it makes it ...

Re: The need for a Balance Team
I'm not sure if this is directed at me, but I'm not trying to "exclude" anyone. It was not, I've had many very similar conversations with many of the others in this thread. I'm sorry if it implied like I was coming across hostile towards you. My only point irt your post was that I am not ...

Re: The need for a Balance Team
I will note that gnombat and most of this conversation has severely missed my actual point throughout any debate regarding meta shift of new content. You can look through the github issues to see my points. Just thought it worth mentioning since everyone is agreeing with him. I'm not pushing for met...
