i've installed wesnoth, but i think its an older version. how can i update to the newest one?

ähm, i took a look to synaptic (yes, ubuntu) and i couldn't find it. so, how to realize your tip?
it would be great, if anybody could help me...

i installed wesnoth on linux. after downloading some campaigns, they are double-listend in the wesnoth-campaign-menu...
what to do now?
