May I ask why you all want a Matroska container?
I don't see why one shouldn't use ogg if he shall use theora and vorbis anyway, those are AFAIK designed to be used with ogg...

Further, I run on WINDOWS, so if anyone knows of a movie file extension that operates on MAC,WINDOWS,and LINUX that would be awesome! I'd personally use Theora , because that is a free codec available for Mac/Windows/Linux, works out of the box on most Linux distributions and is easy to install at ...

Well, Cretive Commons is not generaly incompatilbe with GPL, but they are using a license which forbids changeing the file, which is GPL incompatilbe :(

IMHO the fire.wav sounds as if there is noise on my boxes (at least in the beginning)
The bat_chirp.wav sounds cool, but would have to be amplified I think.

Ubuntu is VERY cutting edge when the stable releases come out, but of course it ages within the 6 month until the next release. This is why current stable (aka. 5.10 aka. breezy badger) has 1.0. Current development branche (aka. dapper drake and will be 6.04) has 1.1 and considers upgrading to 1.1.1...
