Of course. We can hotlink the SF.net feed; projects are encouraged to do so. Otherwise, I can write a quick feed fetching and caching script and we can host the feed locally.

60mb isn't really that much. Even on dialup connections, it can be downloaded in about 6 hours, and for people who don't have a download manager, use the torrent with uTorrent.

I actually run a wesnoth torrent on my open source torrent tracker , and it's fairly well distributed. I link to it on the download page on the wiki, but obviously it isn't official - unless anyone on the distribution team wants to co-ordinate a BfW torrent? BitTorrent can offer some speed increases...

As above, sorry to open a dead thread, but I just thought I'd mention that I run an open source torrent tracker and track the latest releases of Wesnoth . I update the wiki download page with the torrent link, but it isn't officially endorsed by Wesnoth and I don't have write access on the files so ...
