Version 0.8 alpha of CampGen is released. Changelog and info: http://wesnoth.org/wiki/CampGen
Direct link to source package:
http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/cam ... 0.8.tar.gz
It should work under Linux, it's not tested under Windows and OSX - but should work after some minor tweaks.

I'm still working on it, yes. My plan is to release 0.9 this weekend (and 1.0 the weekend after).
I think all 1.0 features are there, just need to implement some things (e.g. times are still broken), and fix some bugs.
Oh, and I didn't get around to try the campaign you sent some time ago with 0.8, just report if there's still problems.

CampGen 0.9 beta was just released.
It should allow now to create some simple campaigns. Since I never created a campaign myself (due to lack of an editor like CampGen).. it is probably missing some important things yet - just make a feature request in that case.
It is supposed to work on Linux, OSX and Windows, but was only tested under Linux and verified to at least start up under Windows.

CampGen 0.10 beta was just released.
Ok, so what happened to version 1.0? There was apparently a bug in 0.9 which prevented you from saving
, so I guess tagging the next version 1.0 wouldn't be justified..

Thanks to lwa, there's now also an OSX packaged version (don't ask me what the difference is - but I guess, it is somehow easier to start):

Well, for simple things it should be useable, like filling in difficulty levels and scenarios. Basically the things you can see in the screenshots should work.It looks awesome - but what is it like to use? I have had a campagin in mind for ages .... now I can finally at least make a start
Besides that, you already can set objectives, create a story, create dialogues, place items and units, and script it all with events - but it is probably all but obvious how to do it. And, as ILikeProgramming pointed out, many things are not implemented yet, and many things just don't work fully yet.
the look is from a Gnome desktop, with GTK2:Clearlooks and Metacity:Clearlooks as theme for controls and WM.allefant - what window manager/them/style/etc are you using in your screenhots? I like that
We need YOU to tell us! The original goal was to present campaign creation in the same way you would go about creating one. It should be intuitive for you to use if you don't know any WML but are familiar with playing campaigns. No one on this end has the proper perspective to assess whether or not it worked.dibblethewrecker wrote:It looks awesome - but what is it like to use? Hope springs eternal.
Wesnoth acronym guide.

You just have to click on the application icon to start, instead of opening the terminal and calling "pythonw" on the executable.allefant wrote: Thanks to lwa, there's now also an OSX packaged version (don't ask me what the difference is - but I guess, it is somehow easier to start)
You can move it easily in another place, like "/Application" just by dragging the icon.
You still need to upgrade python, as campgen require 2.6 version.
Notice the name of the OS is Mac OS X (not OSX).

Thanks for your efforts, but... I downloaded allefants tarball but couldn't figure out what to do with the stuff once it was unstuffed.

Then I downloaded iwas macos x version which looked very neatley, but on launching the campgen.app popped one time in the dock and than disappeared.
