regnak wrote:I just reloaded the gz file to check my memory. It says no gold carried over to next scenario. That says recruit and recall until your gold runs out and I did just that. Also I let my ally keep his villages since he needed them more than I did. The result was negative gold. So in order to recruit undead I have to do more cheating. I already had to give multiple units extra movement to save what his name from death. And this is playing on easy.

Also those **** ships move way too fast. They should be slower than water elementals not faster. That way you would have a chance to defeat the land enemies before the ships land like the dialog tells you to do.
No gold carryover? Uh-oh, it wasn't intended to be so
As for the ships, well, I made them fast so that they would reach the shores while the battle still raged on land; there's some distance between the beach and the edge of the map, if they were slower than water elemental they would take forever to dock. They have some huge vulnerabilities though, so in one turn they can be destroyed with strong units. And yes, some of them will inevitably reach the shore, that was intentional, otherwise the battle would be too easy

It said no carryover at the beginning later it says 40%. I don't know which is correct. Having the ships that fast makes no logical sense and if something is too easy playing easy you can always go up in difficulty. You cannot go down from easy which isn't really compared to the mainline campaigns. I am cursing way too much for a scenario on easy.

Editing to add: And you cannot pin the ships either. That's ridiculous. I had one pinned then it just backed out and went far enough that the ghosts cannot catch up. another got away from 2 air elementals and 3 ghosts that had it surrounded on 5 sides and still delivered it's troops.

Well got through with more cheating. God I hope there is nothing else like that for awhile. Those **** Skironian ships are now my #1 most hated unit.

Well I finished Waters of Light. Glad Merwe got her spell. I wish the whole arcanize the swamp had come sooner so not to have to backtrack so far.(5 turns for him)

Ah, well, that was because I didn't know how to set those units' AI so that they would move to the desired location, so I had to move them with MOVE_UNIT ^_^ But I promise I'll look out for a way to make them move as desired while moving normally.

Re: Total Darkness, not even going to try. I hated a blacked out map when I played RPG games long ago. If I couldn't have killed one of the Lich Lords via debug I would have quit right here. And it was the most fun in three maps until you did that.

Come on, all you have to do is pay attention to the terrain defence that appears on the cursor; it's not like your line of sight gets decreased, it's foggy just as before - and you can always guide yourself through the mini-map on the right edge...

It is too tedious, I tried for half a turn and felt a headache coming on. I play PC games for fun and recreation not for something like that.

Well since I was sick yesterday I am trying it again. It's better but still not a fan. Not being able to tell where the cave walls are makes me afraid to move a lava giant I have painstakingly built up from a wisp.

But moving your units close to cave walls may be better, since the enemy has Shadows on her side ;-)
Also, don't worry, this is the only scenario where I do that, the next ones will be more 'normal' ;-)

Ok, I should have said no knowing where the breaks in the cave walls are. I cannot plug a gap I cannot see so they can slip behind my lines. Anyway I finished and took something for the new headache I got. I am glad the next scenario is out in the open.

Get better :-)
Also, about Immortal Fire, I can tell you in advance: get ready to use Menon's Supreme Spells nonstop, you'll need them

Yes since I am on vacation this week I was able to complete that today. It was an excellent scenario. It was tricky to use Menon's whirlwind attack while not hitting any of my own units but I managed. Stygia came out after a Wraith on turn 9 and the rest was history.

Totally not surprised that you know who was evil.

Well I didn't see the revelation in Black Light coming. It was neat though!
