My way is a unique one. :D i were reading MTG forums and noticed a link on one persons sig, it read: try out battle for wesnoth its a free turn based stragedy game. I clicked the link and downloaded it. Been hooked after that. Should put it in to the poll as "heard from friend"?

It was my sig, BTW.
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

I've found the sources in a DVD bundled with an Italian magazine. Compiled it (great, it compiled flawlessly at the first try!), installed it, run it.
Tricky game to master, but really, really addictive. Thanks to all the code, artwork and translation guys for this awesome game!

I read about it in a slashdot.org discussion yesterday where several people mentioned Wesnoth as a good example for a nice and well working FOSS game. And from what I have seen so far on the site it seems to be true and I`m going to install it when I`m back at my own pc... :-)
