hmm, I still don't get the lightsources. How many do you try to use? I can make out one from left above, one from lower on the left, one from frontally right and a bonus back rim-light - basically a bit from everywhere. I think that's too much to pull off - just for curiosity: could you post your reference pic?
The nice thing about painting digitally is that you can start out with one lightsource, tweak it until it looks right and consistent (and post it) and afterwards put in more lightsources on top of it, if you think you need some.
Apart form that I like the basic concept - nice calssical hermit/seer style!
Another little problem is the shape of the hood - it seems to be in front of the head one the one side of the face and behind it on the other without proper folds explaining it.
And because of the Arne portrait I know that you can paint better beards - it really needs more structure and please tone down that lower lip.
