Seconded.A-Red wrote:Rule of cool. I think they're fine.
And the rocket-guy (in his real final version) needs bigger hands, IMH[non-artist]O.
Re: Zerovirus' sprites for UtBS
Wow. The Invader's size nearly doubles by the time he reaches lv4- and I shrunk the Overlord by 3 pixels or so of height.
Re: Zerovirus' sprites for UtBS
You might also think about removing the horns on the L4. Having that massive crest *and* horns is kind of redundant and confusing to the eye (but I like the crest a lot).

Sooooo much awesomeness going on in this thread.
I agree with A-Red, the horns seem a little unnecessary since he has that awesome crest. Although if you really wanted to keep the horns, perhaps you could try moving them closer to the helmet, in front of the crest. Your call.

IMO, the L4 hands are still too small...

Fairly major creeping biggerism might be going on here. I'll do some edits after i get back from my swim.

Re: Zerovirus' sprites for UtBS
Quick question here : these sprites are meant to replace units in the mainline campaign Under the Burning Suns, aren't they ? As my next project might very well be a redo of UtBS story art and campaign-specific portraits, I'd rather have my portraits match refreshed sprites .

Re: Zerovirus' sprites for UtBS
My mistake. I'm not refering to chaos line portraits, as I've seen Evilest's work and wouldn't dream to waste these.
What I meant is the replacement of existing portraits, most of which depict the Quenoth elves : Kaleh, Nym, Zhul, (Eloh), ...
Unless this is also being taken care of ?
In which case I'll stick to story art and focus on something else.

Ah right, not AFAIK. But you've seen shadowmaster's post in closed art dev, so you'll be better off working that out with him and kitty I suspect.

Re: Zerovirus' sprites for UtBS
Wow, there's been a lot of interest in new UtBS graphics in all areas. LordBob, EVILEST, me, Espreon, Shadowmaster... I think Espreon's gunning to get Rhyging involved too.
This is going to be pretty cool.
In other news, I tried to shrink the lv3 down to a more acceptable size. Though he does grow a few pixels, most of that is horns or crest or sword, so I think it's more tolerable.

Re: Zerovirus' sprites for UtBS
you could cut the lvl4 a few more pixels by removing the horns, which in my opinion is downright overkill right now.
Re: Zerovirus' sprites for UtBS
While it might be true the horns are a bit overkill, it would be weird for the whole line to have them, and then, at lv4, pop, no more horns! So I would personnally be inclined to keep them, even if just for cohesion.

Kickback for biggerism reduction. I can't help but feel, in general, that they're getting a little over-complicated.
