That looks great, although he's currently looking directly right, when he should be looking towards the bottom right of the hex. I would suggest making the top single pixel of the eyes white to correct this.

I tried that, but it makes the eyes look ridiculous. I tried a few shades of brown instead, but it didn't help anything.

It may just be the position of the head, then.

It's not really a pressing issue, your sprite is great as is.

The marauder has no neck. And his heads too small. Apart from that, these are going well.

You could add more fancy stuff on the higher level units. Now the hunter and pillager look like same levelled. Cloaks, helmets, banners, colors....

I was playing your campaign with these guys in it, and god are they hard to beat. 30% chance of hitting with pretty much everyone. Even my master bowmen was having trouble, and my royal guard, hitting one of your lvl 1 units. :P

And i agree with sfault, you'd never know that they were a higher level at first glance.

That's because you're fighting in a woodland area. They have the same movetype as elves.

70% Defense is pretty extreme. Only Elvish Archer's in forest, dwarves in mountains, etc. get that high of a defense. It should really be the highest defense there is, used sparingly. Good cover, even good cover that is the race's natural environment, should really only be 50 or 60 percent.
