Cool thanks for the feed back. The new sprite will be on the floor with his wings closed. but the Eagle will be in flight (he is much smaller than the Roc) I think a complete re-do is required on the Roc.

Sorry for the double post, but i decided to continue with the sprites, as the sooner they are the done the sooner i can get the faction out to the public.

I put the Roc aside for a moment, as i really cba to redo a load right now lol.

Instead i drew the Shaman. Im happy with pose, just need to work on the robe. He sort of reminds me of the evil queen in snow white lol. Presenting an apple. That is supposed to be some magical stone btw.

Like i said, work on the robe is required.

The basic shapes are great, but like you say, the cloak needs some work on dithering/blending the shading so it looks smoother. And the jewel thing in its hand needs a bit more shading/highlighting, so it's clear what it is, and definitely oughtn't to be outlined in black. Needs some TC somewhere, too. Maybe the jewel =D

I like the Shaman, even though there are some minor kinks that need to be worked out. But the Roc looks awfully small, and his wingspan is pretty short too. I know it's difficult to fit it inside the hex, but what you have now could be part of a mid-flight stance or idle animation.

The hood needs some work, it doesn't quite follow the shape that it should over the top of his head.

Ok i did a bit of editing, not very much as i havnt really had time lately, and ive stated work on the other lvl 2 mage, called Elder, i have actually got round to creatin the Shaman, the out lines i come up with look too advanced for lvl1s, but im sure i will sort some thing out.

Like i say only a few differences, ill continue working on him later.

Ok whilst on a spriting blitz i managed to get the next sprite's draft done.

There has been yet another change in the tree. The Rouser is now the used to be overlord and the new sprite is now the overlord. It just seemed right to have the name Lord in a lvl 3

Here is the rough version of him. He probably wont be the level three that will turn into the king.

EDIT: just changed a bit, and woo 100th post

Ok sorry for the double post

Ive done a quick version of the Savage. he looks ok, but his legs were a problem as was his whip. Does anyone have any tips as to how i mght be able to make the whip look better?

And i edited a bit on the Overlord. The lvl 3 of the savage will have the cat o'nine tails as the sith Jord suggested :P , plus both the savage and lvl 3 will have the leadership ability.

Suggestions as to how they can be improved?

Cheers

Don't be.

The savage looks good, but you might want to test the savage in game to see how/if the whip stands out from the shadow. Make sure it doesn't blend in with it.

What kind of damage would a whip do?

Slashing fits best to my mind as well. Maybe with Slows.

Agree here. I think some campaign had whips with "impact" damage but while that may seem intuitive to some I'm pretty sure it's all wrong too. Even though a whip hasn't got a sharp edge, the kind of injury it will cause is more akin to cutting wounds than impact ones. Also, I don't see a whip as being effective against heavy armor (which is one of the characteristics of impact damage). Go with blade.

Blade it is then :D I was thinking of pierce origionally because it "pierces the skin", but then I realised it didnt actually pierce into the skin  lol
But in terms of "fluff", the whip wasnt the prefered weapon of choice. It was more used to frighten the other gores into fighting (hence the leadership ability). The sword would have been used in combat. But in game terms he'll use both, the sword being pierce.

Ahh yes, my idea is being implemented. :D
