Rockfall

Post by borad »

Assuming it's not a bug, some explanation of why you lose your money and troops at the start of "Rockfall" would be nice.

Also, since when did dwarves become immune to lava, wading through it from the north without taking damage? Is this a result of it (I read) previously being water rather than lava?

Seems a nasty level if you don't get (some) fast units.

(Edit: gone through this and the next level, got my troops back after the end of "Betrayal", but not the 1500 gold... Malakar also got downgraded to level 2 at the start of "Betrayal", and has stayed that way into the next level. Waaah...)

(Edit #2: went back to the auto-save of the last turn of "River of Skulls", finished that level, this time got to keep my money and level... Whatever, happy now!)

Borad: the money and downgrading problem is a bug. It's not Flight to Freedom's problem, but part of Wesnoth itself. There's a thread elsewhere that promises this will be fixed by 1.3.13. If you play other campaigns, it will sporadically show up there, too, including the mainline ones.

The save "Council of War" is, according to Wesnoth, invalid (is it really?), and "Council of War Turn 1" works fine, and goes to Forest of Nightmares when I click "End Scenario". Also, I tried debugging through Swamps of the Jamolar to enter Council of War, and I was unable to reproduce it. It could have something to do with SVN.

Well not really...

I've played this campaign in 1.3.12, then I got to the Council map and it froze in the middle of that map (everytime I tried it did so afterwards).

It deleted all my saves from last scenario.

The starting of this scenario didn't work (bug of 1.3.12, recall list is gone and all that)...

Moreover, everytimn I tried to load and start is wesnoth crashed.

So I loaded it in SVN (then I got my recall list back and all) and tried the map. Everytime I tried to get to the next scenario, it frozen automatically.

I tried to load it in 1.3.12, there wesnoth shutdown on load again.

Well I'll try to reproduce the errors.

Until then, now that you could actually get to the 4th scenario with my save, can I get a save there? So I can continue playing the campaign tx :)

I tried to get a 4th scenario save, but the recall list bug's getting it. However, I think I know what may be doing this. Try opening the file Flight_Freedom_1_3/scenarios/03b_Council_of_War.cfg in a text editor and deleting the line beginning with "theme=".

Is the campaign currently incompatible with 1.3.14? Every time a new map is initiated (happens whenever I finish a scenario, start the campaign, or load an autosave at the beginning of a scenario), Wesnoth complains about it having no header and returns to the main menu.

Xargon, this update restores compatibility with 1.3.14. I would have liked to add a few more things before releasing it, but I'd rather keep the campaign playable.

UPDATE:
version 4.4 released, for Wesnoth 1.3.14+
on the Wesnoth 1.3.14+ campaign server, 8.64MB download

headers and borders added to all maps
two links added in secondary branch to main branch
sword-and-shield narrator icon replaced
new cutscenes
Mountain Crypt darkness code revised
bugfixes

I suggest that you check Invasion from the Unknown's new NPC code (on 0.9.2). IMO it's easier to debug and such when things happen. And it uses a more standard way of moving units from one hex to another.

It's located on /utils/npc.cfg.

Umm yeah, I am playing the first branch (played the second branch and I love it) and I am having trouble with scenario where you try to get the Unforgiver to the bottom of the map. I can't seem to find a safe route I can't can't even get to the center of the map due to all the sea monsters.

No, FtF is not mainline. You must be dreaming or something.

No, he installed 1.3.19 and it found his 1.2.x FtF version in userdata.

Did you install it in the same old location (folder/directory) as an older version was? Then you have the same user-installed campaigns as before.

Argh. You're right, of course. I completely forgot I had installed some things for 1.3 lately, which I don't usually do, with new versions (and new mainline campaigns) coming so frequently these days.

What a shame...

Sorry for causing confusion.
