Re: water animation
(Assuming you're working in Windows) You can simply put them in a .zip file and upload that - in windows explorer, select all the files, right click, select 'send to > Compressed (zipped) folder' (or equivalent in your language of choice
)

Re: water animation
Lol nope - however, you are sensible to think it might be - the forum only accepts certain file types for upload. zip is one of them, for specifically this purpose, however.

Select them all, right-click (or Ctrl+click), and click "Compress".rhyging5 wrote:(although I work in a mac) I dont know why I thought it was more complicated ......

Re: water animation
please post what you've got right away,
as I said the point is not to commit but to makes sure I have enough mastery of the terrain WML to merge quickly when you're ready, and to find out what transitions are missing
as for attaching lots of files, the simplest way is to simply zip them and attach the zip file

Re: water animation
what are the chances of the water animations being included in the next mainline release? cause even now they look much better than the static water there is now (no offense intended to whoever made it)

Re: water animation
I'd go with slim, mainly because I don;t know when the next release is. I think we're hoping to have these ready before 1.8, though.

Re: water animation
from an engine point of view, everything is there, and it could even be added between 1.8 releases without breaking anything
from a timing point of view... hard to tell how much work is needed and how much time it will take or when the next release will be.
so i'll go with thespaceinvader. slim, but we're going to get the ball rolling to have them in and not let that work disapear in the forum

Re: water animation
Try with this Boucman, should be the same as the adyacent animation, but with 13 pngs, indeed of 15. For a good visual effect each hexagon's animation must begin randomly!

Re: water animation
ok, first try, first problem...
the "main" image should be 72x72 pixels with no transparency.
I'm not an artist so i'm not able to correct that myself. could you provide new images for me ? thx

Re: water animation
yes, is a problem.
Are you quite sure of these requirements? what you demand can bring serious artistic limitations. Is not a artistic caprice that the "main" image I give you is slightly larger than normal and have some tranparency . It is the way which I found myself to achieve a good fusion of two hexagons animated. You can see what I mean, in the image below. Obviously can be resolved, but I think this brings less quality on the water animation I got, then this would be a step backwards for me .... ...

Re: water animation
I believe the transitions are separate tiles that are attached programatically.
Re: water animation
hmm i'll see what I can do, but it might be a bit tricky, no guarentee
In the meantime if you could provide the waves on the sand, i'll see what I can work with them
and AI is right, these waves should be transparent and not include the underlying sand... they will be added programatically on the other background

Re: water animation
Just wanted to chime in again and say how awesome those anims are. Congrats on art contributor status too.
