The dragon/wyvern/whatever's feet have claws.
The dragon skeleton has arms. And its not a problem, we're just saying this dragon has no arms. So theres nothing wrong with armed skeletal dragons.

Except that the only skeletal dragon in the game (in mainline) is one of the two fire dragons in the game (in mainline) dead and reanimated. :P

kSeth wrote:Ack, Turin, don't waste your time on the images in this thread. Before school killed my free time, I redid most of them (bad animation/poor coloring/inconsistence frames).

I will post them as .png when I have more time to finish polishing them. Sorry for whatever inconvenience this has cause you.
Any update on this? I'd like this finished reasonably quickly, if possible. If it'll take some time, then I can finish what turin started.

Where is it? I do not recall it in TRoW (it's been awhile) and it is definitely not in SoF.

Eastern Invasion, "the Drowned Plains".

Now the unit's animation frames are at /data/core/images/units/monsters and its code at /data/core/units/monsters/Skeletal_Dragon.cfg.

The dragon in EI is the dragon in SoF resurrected by Mal-Ravanal.

So there are basically two choices:
(a) redo the dragon to match the skeletal dragon
(b) redo the skeletal dragon to match the dragon.

I vote B, but I'm not the one who has to do it. :)

(c) Mal-Ravanal decided to reorder some bones for purpose x. Frankly, I don't think anyone would really care one bit if the skeletal structures don't match exactly.

C. By all means.

You guys really need to realize you're being penny wise and pound foolish when you suggest cleanups like this. We have far more important tasks to be done.

Besides the point, the skeletal dragon -will- match whenever Eternal gets his new dragon done, which is effectively solution A, so ... I don't see the issue.

It's not a huge issue, but I imagine Jetryl & Co. would want it to be consistent. [EDIT] <sigh> I stand corrected.

The arms could've been added by Mal-Ravanal (though it raises the question where he obtained arms that size!). But the skull shape is very different now, too.

P.S. Should the dragon have a serrated tail or something so its tail swipe is a slashing ("blade") attack?

[EDIT] P.P.S.

I think you're mistaking "This should really be consistent" for "Jetryl should make this his #1 priority, now!". It's a polish issue - you certainly have far more important tasks to be done, but ideally this (and other minor polish issues) should be done later - by the 1.4 release, probably.

so lets put this discussion on the back burner for now? some would say that the old fire dragon didn't match the skeletal one either.

When we have less pressing things to do, this can perhaps be readressed?

this goes for they're/their/there as well

Posting up some gifs of the latestest edited animations for forum-goers.

Png's have had their colors adjusted so that they match ingame, colors used in .gif animations are too subtle and standout like a sore thumb.

Cheers!
