I was browsing through Games on SourceForge (for my Mac)...
Re: How did you find out about Wesnoth?
When I changed from Windows to Linux (KDE and later Ubuntu) I wasn't able to play any of the games I knew then. So after some searching I found out Wesnoth was a !FREE! TBS-game. I installed it and I'm already playing it for 5 years now

Re: How did you find out about Wesnoth?
I was lying in my bed one night, unable to sleep. I heard music in the other room, and for a very long time, wondered what was going on.
I still could not get to sleep, and the music still played. I slipped out of bed, padded out into the living room, and found Dad playing an early version of The Battle for Wesnoth. We were experimenting with the Linux OS on an old computer, and Wesnoth came free with it.
I stayed up very late watching him, being very entertained, and played it the next day. And the next.
The music was that obnoxious elvish music with the ridiculous arpeggio with five notes... gah... and I believe the level was from Heir to the Throne, back when it was the "Isle of Anduin."

I am your best nightmare...
Re: How did you find out about Wesnoth?
A guy on another web game I play made a post in the game's forums about this game and he gave a link to it. I've been an addict ever since.
I'm just... a guy...
I'm back for now, I might get started on some work again.

Well, a while back, I was wanting some (free, downloadable) games, and my dad found it.
Ever since then, I've liked it.
God bless,

http://www.reloaded.org when I was looking for free games. I didn't download it immediately, but after some ppl were discussing the game on a forum dedicated to ADoM (another great game). Now I have been playing BfW for a couple of weeks and just can't stop.
