Fantastic!

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
That's the idea. Crafting a "holy sword" arguably involves fancy stuff, therefore I'm assuming that whatever mages require to perform the actual spellcasting was included inside the sword - hence the cumbersome white mage regalia on the pummel. As I said, if that's not enough I will add magic FX in order to clearly identify the sword as a spellcasting tool.shadowmaster wrote:He presumably doesn’t need one.
Edit: and a revised study for Delfador. Broader shoulders, no hunch, hand on the ready - I think his "neutral" pose is good to go.
Side note regarding the staff: unlike any of the human mages, his doesn't look man-made. This was done on purpose, in order to reflect the fact that he receives the Fancy Stafff of the Super Defender of LightTM in [acronym=Delfador's Memoirs]DM[/acronym], and from what I gather said satff is quite ancient and not necessarily man-made. Though that's my take on it; if there's already an established appearance for the staff, I'll comply, of course.

I like this stance much more than previous.
Re: LordBob's commissionned work
Everything looks ok to me, but I hope his face will end up looking reasonably friendly. As it is, it looks like the face could easily turn out rather creepy and grim, depending on how it's finished.

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
Here's the current (obviously not final) state of his face. Is it going the right direction ? If need be, I could produce a lesser alt of the same pose with just a friendlier face
Side note : he has a tad more hair than both the existing portrait and story art, because I've tried to stick to Kitty's version of the young Delfador. Seeing how he's depicted with a bushy beard and thick hair, I thought he might have kept at least some in old age.

That's cool, no objections from me.

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
That's great! It fits the character, and I can see the resemblance to kitty's younger versions. A less stern variant would, indeed, be better for some of the dialog.

Just chiming in, looks great.

Top-notch portrait.
I think he needs to look more tanned, but you probably haven't got around to that yet.
The only real change I would like is less bushy eyebrows. Makes me think of Master in KIll Bill 2.

I'm loving the eyebrows, myself.

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
I'm glad to see he's appreciated.
For a quick poll, here's Delf's (still unfinished) current appearance. I initially went for a red-and-green colour scheme (on the left below), but on a second look the result might not be all that elvish, so I made variations (middle and right) using colours that are more evocative of nature and/or closer to Konrad's elvish clothes. What do you think ?

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
Personally I like the middle one. I feel like it's a good mixture between the elvish outdoorsy colours and the respected court mage look. I imagine it's almost like the outside of his cloak has faded to brown from the sun while the inside still has a little of the rich colour of the original or something. That sort of exiled noble look is how I've always imagined Delfador to look. If that's what you're going for, maybe a little more red in the mantle would look good.
Is he wearing harem pants? I assume that it's supposed to be a long robe or the like, but to me the boofiness makes it look like baggy trousers like he's about to break out into the Hammer dance. A bit strange, but he's a mage, he can wear what he likes

Great work as always LordBob.

FWIW, that is how I imagine his look too. Just that I wouldn't have been able to verbalize it so clearly.UnwiseOwl wrote:That sort of exiled noble look is how I've always imagined Delfador to look. If that's what you're going for, maybe a little more red in the mantle would look good.
