Re: artisticdude's art, currently working on GIANT axeman

Well, I actually kinda like it! It's pretty fiery in my opinion. Fire's very random, and it's pretty easy to draw.

Also, I started then decided 'screw it' and did a request for Gambit instead. If you want to finish drawing and shading this you can.

Wow. The fire sprite looks pretty cool. There is something a bit about it though. Maybe wider range of colors to make it more resebling normal fire?(just a wild guess)

How about this? I tried making it brighter towards the center, and that improves it somewhat.

Isn't that definition of you-know-what shading?

Yeah, but the entire body of the sprite is the lightsource, so there's no real shading at all. And fire is usually brightest at the center of the flame.

It seems awfully small, even for a lvl1.

Otherwise, no issues I can see. :D

@Captain_Wrathbow: I'm betting you prefer Zero's sprite above? I'm also gonna finish mine though, since I could use it as a giant or something (Heh-heh-heh  ).

Yeah, but zero's isn't finished and he said he isn't going to. The overall design is good, but it's waaay too light. (but I suppose that's pretty easy to fix.)
You can work off of his or finish yours or both. I'll use whichever gets finished. :)

So I finished mine first, now I'm working on Zero's. I'm also working on an alternate version of mine, that gives the sprite blotches of dark red rust all over his armor to enhance his (hopefully) fearsome appearance. I think I might change the feet, since they look too round (to me, anyways).

He's leaning forward. The shield seems held awkwardly. At least this time I don't see so much pillowing :)

Me sux at drawing legs/feet. :( I think I need to lengthen his right arm a bit more. His forearm's okay, but he's got some mighty short biceps. Hopefully I can figure out where I'm gonna go with this once I un-round those feet.

And the rust pallete could use some work too, but color ramps -are- pretty hard to pull off.

Not for me, I'm brilliant! *Starts pulling the rust palette from the revenant* :P

Anyhoo, here's an update on the form.

Ah, now that's a bit better balanced.

Hmm. Not much I can say here- you've pretty much established it already and any possible improvements to it would mean completely scrapping some parts and starting them over, which I'm not quite sure you want or can do. So I guess you're finished except for the shadow and any further edits you might do.
