Neo, if you're thinking that Pillager has some sort of say as to whether or not the unit would be put into the game, you're mistaken. Make the unit if it'd be fun for you to make it- Just don't expect anything to happen with it, commital-wise.

There aren't any people involved in MP balancing that see any serious change-worthy problem with the Drakes as they are.

Actually I've thought about both of these at once time; a Saurian line that focused on annoying status effects; this together with skirmish would make it the most annoying game in the game.

Sounds cool what about splitting them into two parts some slow saurians strong but rather week compared to other heavy units of other races and some week and expensive skirmishers with this status modificators who prepare the way for the others.

change the gliders damage to impact, and either increase other resistances or decrease the cold weakness, and we're good. Undead kill me as drakes all the time :(

Gliders already do impact damage. :roll:

Gliders already do impact damage. :roll:
i didnt mean gliders, i meant the burners. Oopsy :(

IMHO Clasher should have impact damage on lvl 1. After all, dwarf fighter have it for absolutely no reason, but heavy-armed/armored clasher (his strongest feature according to description) don't?

It'd make the clashers a bit more usefull; perhaps their blade can be altered into impact on level 1?

didnt read whole thread so i dont know if anyone else said this but saurian tribalist has impact(not very powerful but impact still) and so does the glider.

Edit: just noticed someone said this but yeah drakes dont need fixing they rock.

I don't think Drakes need changing for those reasons either.
imho though, it'd be nice to add a little to the saurian exp-tree, add a branch to the skirmisher, and add up-level to the caster. hmmm, I'll think of stats later.

yeah the saurians need more especially when it comes to the classic era. But i think the drakes are fine as they are.

Actually, please tell me a reason (from _balancing_ point of view) why drakes need more impact?
Are they really so weak against unit weak to impact? Their powerful fire damage doesn't work against those units? Or maybe you just want to not worry about how proper your recruitment is, and to not be afraid of too many recruited clashers/fighters/saurians instead of burners, because you will have "ultimate" faction good against everything, no matter what you get?
