Play with the Wesnoth developers
Moderator: Forum Moderators
Okay, a little late but Li'sar and I will be playing a little today. I have uploaded a Windows version of CVS here: http://www.wesnoth.org/files/wesnoth-wi ... _08_27.exe

Oh dear, and I already compiledivanovic wrote:The devsrv has now been updated to be 0.9.6+cvs. So please update your clients to match this version if you do want to play on the cvs server today.

Recompiling, then I'll come...
Try some Multiplayer Scenarios / Campaigns
Things were sparse today (possibly because it is Labor
Day weekend in the U.S. and no one built a windows
version of current CVS), but we did get some playing
done. There were five different people that I saw play
games on the development server.
I stopped by the regular server and there was several
games (8 or so) going on, so other people were around.
Though some people in the lobby hadn't heard of
"play with the developers" and were wondering what
I was talking about.
If this practice is going to continue for a long time, it
might be nice to make the announcement sticky and to
have an automated build process for a windows install
executable that runs Friday nights.
Today was fun, but Pete, Winterheart and I set things a
bit tough and got stomped two games before playing an
easy game to close out the day.

Tomorrow, Saturday 17 September, developers will once again be participating in this.
We will be using the release Wesnoth server (server.wesnoth.org), and participants will be able to use either 0.9.7 or 0.9.7+cvs -- so all users should be able to play. (These versions are compatible with each other).
This may be the last time this happens before a 1.0 RC is released, so please participate in this last-minute testing.

That sounds cool. I'll hope to be there ow that I don't need to compile CVS.Dave wrote:Tomorrow, Saturday 17 September, developers will once again be participating in this.

Today isn't too good for me. I am still sick (though much better today than most of last week) and didn't want to start early, and I am supposed to roleplay later and didn't think I could finish a late starting game before I would have to leave.
I do like playing multiplayer against the computer, which seems to be a hallmark of developer games. So I will still be insterested on some Saturdays.
I a good place to try to drum up a developer game is on the #wesnoth-dev chat room. From today's log, it doesn't look too busy, so it might be hard to drum up a game, but you could try.
