I'm myself a huge fan of AC/DC, a classic hard rock. Angus Young (lead guitar) is a true virtuoso! To me, all modern music is just... sold. If you have the money, you are famous. They aren't good musicians at all! But, like someone previously said, it's all a matter of taste.
Anyway, to guys talking about classical music: you should listen to Chuck Berry's "Roll Over Bethoven". And tell Czajkowski (tchaikovsky) the news!
I wouldn't say that. I really enjoy both.
I also like Bob Dlyan and Tom Waits neither one is the same Genre. As I like Poets of the Fall, Dropkick Murphys, Son Of Dave, Deep Purple,NIN , Led Zeppelin, Unkle, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Clutch.

As long as they've got something to say, at least with a matter I'm satiesfied.
Talking about AC/DC want to hear something positive listen to Gone Shootin. One of their best because it is not only about going on.

What I can't touch is classic Music. I just miss the voices.
But what comes close for me is Rob Dougan, which will probably only known by the Soundtrack of the lousy Matrix Movies.
The man mixes industrial and classical tunes into one, with a voice and tone you could say that is quite unexpected.
Speed me towards Death, Born Yesterday, One and The Same.
All of them are small dark perls.

Of course Gone Shootin' rocks, it's very underrated (like the whole Powerage album)

My sig changes on a daily base. ;) I especial like this one because you know the feeling of not being completly aligned.
You're ALL individuals!
Yes! We're all individuals!
You're all different!
Yes, we ARE all different!
I'm not...
Sch!
Cough joke aside.
I'm loving music with a message or that tells a story. If good or bad I don't mind as long as I can somehow relate to it.

You forgot the drugs.
Hulavuta wrote:They're not really "forced" I would say, as their songs cover controversial topics, like Jesus, War, Pornography, etc. They're protest songs mostly. System of a Down broke up a while ago, and they mentioned a buttload of times that they're not reforming. So....not really forced...and they're not exactly modern either, I mean, their first album was in 1998, and their last was in 2005. And the years later was when the famous "Pop" stars started to get popular,
They still preform BTW.

Well Serj Tankian still produces music with his new Project.
He has a very charismatic voice and his outbursts which make the songs quite alive.

And they are still cynical as always. I don't care which label sticks on it, he is still good as ever.

Perhaps having difficulties in your personal life and relationships with others in snecesarry to make really good music. That is not to say that anyone who meets the above criteria will automatically become a great musician, but if you are working with steel, you need to heat it in a raging forge, beat it with hammers and then quench and temper it, some media just are not suited to delicate treatment.

as for " Become Gay" - I don't know what that has to do with anything, but perhaps they were that way inclined before and felt pressured by society into not admitting it, only when they were rich and famous could they come out. Also, perhaps they pretended to become gay to avoid the millions of screaming teenage fangirls thowing underwear at them?
Ignore me, I'm not a real person anyway.

I wouldn't say that Goethe had a troubled Childhood. Neither had Shakespear, Schiller, Hemingway, Stanislav Lem, Terry Pratched and dozens of other writers.
Well Erich Maria Remarques traumatic experiences helped to write good anti war books.
Not taking part in a war didn't troubled Bob Dylan writing one of the best anti war songs ever.

And if someone finds being gay troubesome.
I would think that Oscar Wilde or Queen won't be your case.
I don't care much about it indeed those guys just made the best out of their life trying not to be troubled by their differences

Personally, I am opposed to gayness, but I don't want to cause anyone to be unhappy, (poor choice of words) so I really don't care.

A - Lots of non-musicians get divorced too, there would be nothing bad about that.
B - I totally fail to see why someone should hate musicians because they were gay. Even if all of them were.
C - I would still say that most musicians do not kill themselves.

Well, who doesn't "get killed" eventually, be it by old age or illness?

I feel what you dislike is perhaps all the star system and sensationnalist press all around musicians then the actual musicians. They're mostly people like you and me, on average. Well, maybe some play they're roles farther then others, maybe some really are sensationnalist pricks, but you shouldn't generalize those statements to all musicians.

As a friend of mine used to say "Generalization is always bad".
