Problem- all lavinian units except siege archer line use "long" and "short" attacks, and nothing else does in the era, so they can't retaliate, and nothing can retaliate against them.

Doesn't that say that they can't swim in deep water?

I guess it depends on whether you consider "bouncing off the bottom" to be feasible in the depth of water indicated by the terrain deep water.

Well if dolphin is chosen, there is a dolphin made by gargoyle pillager in a forum thats now gone, since most old/locked forums have been deleted, It was his proposal for a Drake Pillager that went on, with the drake riding a wose, a drake, a dolphin, and a wolf

This has been fixed in SVN, or so grep tells me.

Oops, it was Drake Pillager who did it, and here it is, the Dolphin, might want to remove the Drake

Making a hippo graphic is really hard. Here's my first try; it is nowhere near in-game standards, and I would never actually use it, even for UMCs.

Any help would be appreciated... I might try JW's method, and just shrink down a photo of a hippo.

I think I'll use the hippo graphic from this site.

PS: I like their armadillo.

Yeah... That hippo look look like its lying down, about to die, or something. Might be good to develop it iinto a death animation frame.

Wouldn't a guy riding on a rhinosaurus look so much cooler than a guy on a hippo?

You should look closer at Rhinosauruses, they look like tanks!! (not really, just armoured cars carrying a load of money to and from the bank.)

But rhinos don't swim. And what we need is a swimming unit. Whether riding a hippo is logical or not is rather irrelevant; what is relevant is that rhinos don't swim...

African elephants aren't very safe either but Hannibal used them...

No, but they can, and will, pierce you with their tusks or trample you under their feet.
I am serious, African Elephants are aggressive.

I know, Indian Elephants are more famous for it though, they have this kind of berserker rage some times through the year. Only the males though. If your talking about that though you have no chance of riding them into battle though.

Not talkiing about the Musht (I believe it is called), that happens only to males, as you've said, related to a testosteron concentration which is up to 60 times higher then the nromal concentration of testosteron in the blood. This also happens to the African elephants.
