Looks nice and functional. So the Imperial Era is going to have swimmers and smallboats all around, even the desert factions?.
Oh yeah... NINJA BOAT.

Swimmers, small boats, or flyers, yes. So far, we have:Cuyo Quiz wrote:Looks nice and functional. So the Imperial Era is going to have swimmers and smallboats all around, even the desert factions?.
Oh yeah... NINJA BOAT.
Wild Elves - Sidhe Warrior Spirit
Marauders - Boatsman
Lavinians - Raft-using unit of some sort (yet to actually be proposed)
The Arendians might have trouble getting one... perhaps we should have the Arendians allied with the Dardans in MP, or something like that.
It might be interesting to give the Aiyira a freshwater-fish creature of some sort.

So... greeks actually had some hoplites that jumped from boat to boat to battle it out, and they were big on sports, so in think a swimmer unit would fit best.
If by Airiyan creature you mean "non-realistic", i would gladly call up a high cost flyer unit. Namely the "Assyrian angels/guardians". It could be either a winged lion with a human head, or a humanoid body with bird legs and head.

Sounds interesting.
BTW, any opinions so far on hte proposed names for the Marauder unit? I like Sea Wolf for level 3, but dunno about the other two... ideas?

After finding that Wikipedia gives you many Sailor Moon articles when you type "roman sailor", i found the Areani, sad thing they seem more like spies than sailors.
Expect edits to this post for further Moon-ism psychological damage.
EDIT: Ok, Rome never felt that a navy was really necessary, mostly triremes filled with soldiers. Would it be out of line to have some sort of small fisherman boat with a Nemidian inside?.

It's be OK (more than one nemidian unit would be nice), but it seems too similar to the Marauder unit.Cuyo Quiz wrote:EDIT: Ok, Rome never felt that a navy was really necessary, mostly triremes filled with soldiers. Is there any logical way we could have a non-human unit? Perhaps a dolphin - IIRC, the Romans thought dolphins were sentient. Or was that the Greeks?

After finding the Orcorum thread, i also found this:
Then i would like to change the fall of Airiya in the HISTORY doc. Now the reason of the Airiyan fall are the Kedari, not the Lavinians (the Lavinian fall could be let for the Marauders, maybe their wars conveniently happening at the same time, after they wore themselves out fighting each other).
This is mostly out of real history, IIRC, the Sassanyd and Roman Empire fought between them so much, that in the end the late Roman army found themselves bested by the barbarians, and the Persians found themselves bested by the Arabs/Turks (which are the basis for Kedari, right?). Though luck for both the most powerful nations.
Now, if i'm right, Lavinia has the Airiya to the south and both would have the Kedari to the East. If one would follow north of the Kedari, one would eventually find the Dardanoi coasts.Oh, I've thought of a backstory for the Kedari. Are you familiar with the story of Saving Elensefar? The undead and wesfolk under Ah-Reblak could have traveled down the Great River and reached the Eastern Desert, where they founded a country and evolved into the Kedari.

I am inclined to say Greeks out of pure speculation. AFAIK, Greeks were the only ones to ever worry to think about the classification of the species, which would sadly leave Lavinia lacking some acuatic support. Is there any logical way we could have a non-human unit? That idea has been negated, though, by the rise of the Saracens... and besides, if it was true, it would mean that the Kedari wouldn't be able to exist in hte IE.Cuyo Quiz wrote:After finding the Orcorum thread, i also found this:

Well, this isn't as it currently stands, but it is possible to add.Cuyo Quiz wrote:Now, if i'm right, Lavinia has the Airiya to the south and both would have the Kedari to the East. If one would follow north of the Kedari, one would eventually find the Dardanoi coasts.
Makes sense. Although I still think the Lavinians should emerge the winner after their battles - perhaps there is a truce, but the Lavinians get more out of it.Cuyo Quiz wrote:Then i would like to change the fall of Airiya in the HISTORY doc. Hm... well, maybe I'll give the Lavinians dolphins anyway.Cuyo Quiz wrote:I am inclined to say Greeks out of pure speculation. Troy the Movie: Was it Greeks or Romans that destroyed Troy, well anyway you could have a boat some along the lines of a Trireme (spelling?), seems roman enough, sometimes I get Ancient Roman and Greek architecture confused...
