It's GOOD.
Professional quality logo.
Just the shield could make for the application icon and could be made into the favicon of the website.
I find it better than the current and old one because it scales well, is very readable and the color scheme is simpler and efficient.
I'd be interested to see the logo at the top of the webpage (or something similar) on top of the shield. What's on the shield now is nice and all, but it doesn't look particularly warlike.
Once again, unless I missed it somewhere: Could we get a copy of the shield with no lettering so anyone that wants to might have a go?

What's so good about a map? It's boring. All it depicts is the campaign you are about to play (but ti doesn't even tell you that...). The map is emotionless.... lacks suspense, and most importantly, does not draw the eye.ivanovic wrote:For being able to test in such a resolution we would first need a screen that is able to display it.
Do you really think a poll would be the decission for the game? At the end we (the devs) have the final decission and the old logo does not look nice in front of the map at all. The colors of the old background looked nice, but the image did not (at least this is my opinion). A real high-quality version of the old image would be what I really would like. But since we do not have this or a by far better image for the background we do have the map in there. Maybe the map that is currently in work could replace it but I am not this sure about it at the moment.
Devs has the final decision... yes of course, but if they don't take into consideration about other people's opinions, then the game would go downhill from here... (don't worry, I still have trust in the devs...)
If you are going to replace the old purple image.... then Put something else OTHER THAN a map in... It needs to show emotion, suspense, excite ment, or stuff like that...
Yes... the shield does look professional... but professional = roughly same quality as any other game... The logo on the top of the webpage does not seem professional, but it is different. It has style other professional logos does not have... And most importantly, it shows that Wesnoth is a fantasy game, not just some TBS about barbarians vs romans... The logo also shows mysteriousness, and this captures attention.
Why did the fish laugh? Because the sea weed.
That basically sums up my stance on the issue.ivanovic wrote:A real high-quality version of the old image would be what I really would like. But since we do not have this or a by far better image for the background we do have the map in there.
As for the logo, though the shield is final, we welcome any attempts at a new letterform.

Yeah - the rivets need smashing, the wood needs woodizing, and the Wesnoth needs to look better.

It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.
