Should I keep content on both :15003 and :15004 up to date?

No, only the new one. The other one will soon be the server for trunk only (and of course for the 1.3 tree, the new and soon to come dev tree). It might be that there will be a cleanup of this server before we exclusivly use it for trunk.

2 things: First and most important: How does the campaign server work? I need to know what it does when trying to upload a new UMC, because whenever I try to do it, I get the error message "Network Communications Error." I know the problem is on my computer. I think that if I knew what the server does when uploading campaigns, and what computers do when uploading campaigns, I might be able to adjust my settings so that I can upload my campaign.

<<edit>>

Please explain this in layman's terms. I don't understand anything other than some WML, so if you use any other language in the explanation, please explain what it means. Thanks.

The old server will be kept running on port 15003 for a while, and the new server will use port 15004.
Has the old server on port 15003 been completely emptied ?

A few questions :

1. If an era "works" with 1.1.7, in that it returns a clean stderr file, am I to assume it would work with 1.2 as well?

2. The server version 1.1.7 links to is, if I understand correctly, port 15003. If I wanted to put something in port 15004 via version 1.1.7, how could I do so?

3. Is there the danger of port 15004 being "cleaned up" again?

Thanks in advance.

As long as it will work with mac OS 10.2.8 I wouldn't mind switching, but, if it's above, I'll be unable to.

The one thing I fear, is, that they'll upgrade to a mac OS version I can't run.

There's no real way I can upgrade at the current time, and my PC lappie's HD is dead.

Before going into a "delete policy" please ensure that campaign designers ARE ABLE to
upload. I tun 1.1.11 and have been unable to upload new versions when I connect
In fact I cannot connect at all. In the user threads somebody reported in a very cryptic
manner that there is a bug and he's not even going to restart the server till the bug is fixed.
So As far as I am concerned, I will install 1,2 on my machine and try again to upload a new version. But meanwhile, it should be much easier to just copy over the 1.1.x server campaign to the 1.2. If they turn out to be broken(because of some change between 1.1.x and 1.2) then the users should just notify the author and get a fix. But before deleteing camaigns, please try to ensure accessibility of the servers!

Ok, apparently with the new year and new version, the server seems to be working ok. I was able to upload as well as download. So my previous comment seems irrelevant
