Extended Era revived - version 36

That's realy nice since i seems to suck at graphics (especially dwarves, i've tried a lot of times with no success).wayfarer wrote:It seems we have a small team.
No i don't mind, as long as it is not a big one, and in fact in fits well the unit since it has a little more damage/strike the ThunderguardNoyga would you mind giving him a axe instaed of a sword it? Indeed it would look like a more dwarvish weapon for him.

@ijuric: errr this one looks more like a duck for me. Probably because the body & head is too large comparatively to the wings ?

I'm not sure these falcons are quite there yet, but I DO think you're on the right track and should keep up the good work.ijuric wrote:Here are totally new falcon picts (lef is lev0, right lev1). If those are not good, it's time to admit that I can't help with falcons so I'll work on something else.
But what do the others think?

They're damn good as some kind of bird, but the..."falcon-ness"...isn't immediately obvious. I'm not really sure how to fix it though.

Well, it should be falcon. lev0 falcon image was heavily based on photo* by Cal Sandfort (and I know some might not like it) because I wished it to look like, well, falcon. For lev1 unit, I played with colors and size.

In that case, I would say use these latest Falcon sprites, but not for the base frames. They look more like attack frames to me.ijuric wrote:Well, it should be falcon. lev0 falcon image was heavily based on photo* by Cal Sandfort (and I know some might not like it) because I wished it to look like, well, falcon. This girl, this boy, They were part of the land. What happens to the places we used to tend?

Here is how current version looks on different terrain. I think that lev0 falcon is ok as it is and that beak is visible and of good size. lev1 might have bit too big head and beak tho.
Btw. lev1 falcon has tip of the wing sticking out of the terrain tile, would that represent problem? If so I can rescale it.
For attack animation, I was thinking somethinkg like this (explaining in english is not my primary skill so I'm not sure if you'll understand it. If not, I can draw some fast sketch):
1) (beak attack) Wings go more parallel to body and are not so spread, legs go back and head forward (with beak ready to hit).
2) (claws attack) Wings go up, leg bit more in front with claws pointing more to the ground, and head bit more up.

Well, it does look agressive, but I think this could be good base frame because posture is good as starting point for attacking.Temuchin Khan wrote: In that case, I would say use these latest Falcon sprites, but not for the base frames. They look more like attack frames to me.

The level 0 looks nice
I think the level 1 needs a smaller beak, i'll try to see if i manage to fix it.
Also i think the stripes for the plums on the wing would look better more horizonal, like in the level 0.

Very nice Era pack, I downloaded it off the add-ons server last night. Although, I posted here to make a suggestion. The unit names for some units are kinda, well, blandish, and don't set them apart name-wise from some other units. Like the Undead's Shadow unit has the same name in Unit Info as the Dark Elf's Shadow hero.
Just thought I'd point that out, but otherwise, I like this era!

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem with the extended era:
If I reload a game it will forget that it is the extended era so I can't recruit anything. When I level a unit it will then tell me it can't find the unit and then crashes back to the main menu.
Is this a problem with add ons in general or do I have to go to Tech Support to get it fixed?

You have to load the game through the Multiplayer menu, or the extra units will not loaded and it will, as you said, crash. You can't go to "Load game" directly from teh main menu.
