That seems unrealistics to me. Someone who turns their back to their enemies doesnt know whats going on behind him.

Can't you just make it seam like he has stuck the shield into the ground?

Another option is to make this the moving 'animation' and make his standard image (where he's just standing around) have his shield stuck in the ground.

New Support Trooper. I'm hoping that if I put the shield on the ground it'll be more like a pavise.

Thats a better way to have the shield but I still don't like the crossbow. Should a soldier in battle really look as relaxed as him?

No. But a soldier just standing around waiting to fight would. And thats exactly what the frame is used for.

2. I do not think that holding the crossbow towards the sky is the best way for him to point it.
3. His head should face the same way as his body.
Fed marshal:

1. ----
2. Holding it up like that is extremely uncomfortable and tiring for the arm, a weapon like that would spend more time being rested on the floor, like the shield.
3. Otherwise he would have slightly turned his body.

Not really a valid argument.

I have a better one: It would take a lot longer for him to get the crossbow pointed in the right direction to shoot it than if he was holding it pointing the same direction as his arm.

First he'd have to switch hands, then he'd have to flip it over, then he'd have to use both hands and aim it.

And also it's to heavy to do that all the time whilst your idle, especially with a shield, if you were able to do that, then they wouldn't put down the weapon for shooting...

Ah looks very nice. Maybe the gunner can branch off with one having a pure gun, and the other having the combo? (At level 3 maybe)
