it's pretty easy to have all sort of fancy recoloring of units with the current animation engine, not just TC

image_mods, color shift, alpha are there to do that... and you can add a specific halo or a secondary image...

alright i must confess i didnt see the ellipses u r talking about. and speaking about balance:

yes ok, for 3-4 its too large, but how often will u find 9 players in the lobby longing to play m c ? ok and now that we r only 3-4 ppl we must try to get along with that big map, so we say only one or two continents allowed, then it sounds fine for everybody. we dont want to wait for soem newest release we want to play now - and thats also important, or u would never get ur feedback, for instance about changing the helmet color (what i think should not be so difficult) even the promotion icon shouldnt be too hard to create.

best wishes

and before i forget, how exactely does the collateral damage work ?

i had reeally a lot of suicide attacks vs one player and i only managed to damage one unit with it, not the surrounding guys.

PsychoticKittens wrote:ellipses, sir. Thats the entire reason I took the time to teamcolor the leader/hero ellipse from that one campaign.

Recruits have level 0 ellipses (the no-zoc ellipse) , Veterans have whole ellipses, and Elites have hero ellipses. Its easy enough to tell.
What about vehicles? Iirc, level 1 (the ones you recruit) and level 2 (the ones that are promoted) vehicles have the same ellipse. If I'm wrong about this, please tell me.

they should have different ellipses.

The level 1 tank has the defaults "level 0" ellipse. It still has ZoC because its level 1. When it becomes a Veteran tank its ellipse is whole, and when it becomes Elite its ellipse is all spikey. Thats how we tell anyway. I've found it noticeable enough, between nearby units.

Collateral Damage essentially makes you do half damage if you miss.

We're getting pretty close to a decently large release (2.75) we just have about 4 things left until then.

Does it have any help, or a summary of game principles?

and here i also have to dig in,

just publish a nonchalant help or summary of some feature. it doesnt need to be complete, just inviting to play.

especially in betas u will need the masses response.

i found this quote especially helpful:

If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.

We pretty much catch everything that needs fixing without having to teach new people. So teaching new people comes after everything has already been fixed, and works, no?

Hi folks. It's a great mod that you've got going here!

I've been testing out Beta 2.5 for some time now, and thought that I'd chip in with some of the bugs that I've noticed (I'll save the feature suggestions for another time). Some of these may have already been fixed, but here they are:

<Bug: Dreadnought Ranged Attack>
The Dreadnought supposedly has a Range 6 attack. It does not appear to be possible to use this attack by left-clicking the Dreadnought and right-clicking the target, as is usual for Battleships and other Ranged Units.

<Bug: Car Bomber does not detonate when defending>
I attacked a Car Bomber with a Light Tank. The Car Bomber responded by "exploding" for 65 points of damage against the Light Tank - but did not in fact explode. Result? Dead Tank, Live Car Bomber.

<Bug: Veteran Officers and Medics cost no money>
After researching their respective technologies, it costs no money to recruit a Veteran Officer or Medic.

<Bug: No Cruise Missiles for Submarines>
As far as I can tell, researching "Cruise Missiles" for your Submarines does absolutely nothing.

<Bug: No SAMs for Carriers>
As far as I can tell, researching "Carrier Defenses" for your Carriers does absolutely nothing.

I thought PK removed car bomber retaliation?

Uh... wait, I thought they were melee?

Submarine and Carrier problems are probably because dvormann changed the Build macros for transportation.
Edit: These work. Did you build a new one? It does not affect already built submarines or aircraft carriers, but adds a new weapon to newly-built ones.

Dreadnoughts are fixed it was a typo in the real ranged code.

I'll check the carbomber, It's meant to be unable to defend anyway. Edit: Carbomber didn't have defense_weight=0; fixed.

Veteran Officer and Veteran Medic weren't in the new unit prices macro, they are in the next update along with the other fixes.

Hi, i wanna give my sight for this proyect i already test the era and map and its great, but great in two ways...
the game-play is easy and its fun, the idea is great but the map its just to big.... if you could release a map for 4 players would be great because the game can take all day (like risk) XD but it is a great idea
