Yup, I prefer the 'crumbling skel'

I finished this one mostly for fun and to practice a few techniques, what do you think?

Note: no, there's NO BLOOD, it's just fire and ashes  And yes, I'm sick, but with a sense of humor 8)

lol :D that's nice.

However, I'd have to see it in game to tell whether that actually looked anything like fire. :|

As to turin's animations: The Troll Whelp is nice, but the skeleton doesn't look like a definitive improvement over the current one.
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

I think I understand the criticisms of both my animations. I'll work on the Troll Whelp later today, and put the skelly on the backburner - for now.

Here is my version of the troll whelp death. It is consistent with the future skeleton-troll unit. ;)
images have been committed.

"Images have been committed"? Images of what? ;)

I think it might be a good idea to delete the posts of animations that have been committed; a la the old Units Thread. That, or edit their post and put a big, green committed at the bottom. I still don't know which, if any, of these animations have been committed yet.

sorry, but why would a troll disintergrate when it died?

It's a good animation, but doesn't make sense. :?

I think I prefer my troll death animation. Yours looks... unnatural. Why would he disintegrate? :?

At least, I think your animation is better because Darth Fool´s goes in a bloody/brutal direction, and I think it´s a game wich doesn´t need to be bloody or something like that.

if one of your frame is a "troll whelp skeleton" it would be nice to keep :P

actually a partly desintegrated one would do a nice zombie vraiant...

I think that for this animation, we should heed what Jetryl once said (don't remember where) - we should not try to draw pixelized stuff like fire and smoke. Eventually, we will have a particle engine, which will draw it for us. Until then, DON"T add it manually.

Well, in my view the trolls shouldn't die the way humans do, since they have regenerate. Also, this is consistent with the troll skeleton death, part of a new skeleton army (not yet committed):

Will we? Nice, looking forward to see it.

But where's the fun?

Brutal? That disintegrating troll looks brutal to you? :o

IMHO it looks better in game, but you can judge for yourself.

I said that it goes in that direction. :| And it´s not realistic if a troll whelp turns into a skeleton
when it is hit hard by say-a sword or an arrow. :?

But you see, when a troll dies, the magic that sustains its regeneration fades, and its flesh dissolves, leaving only the skeleton, which in turn collapses as the connective tissue breaks down. Finally, the skeleton itself turns to dust...
