Re: new veteran sprite (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
Ahh, very nice.
I'm going to be picky and say add a pixel on his left ankle (our right). Right where his foot and leg attach to each other, it seems to be very thin. But if a pixel is all you need to change... nice...

Re: new veteran sprite (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
On the sprites, one pixel can make all the difference. Thanks for pointing that out.
Here is an orc. Aside from the sword & hand, how is it so far? EDIT: I got a little further with it, but it seems to be beyond repair. Starting over, I think this one is better.

Re: retry orc (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
There's still work to be done, but how is this so far (concept- & dimensions-wise)?
Re: retry orc (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
I didn't comment on the previous orc portrait because I didn't see anything wrong. But this is much better.
The belt that overlaps the other looks like it's shriveling up (bad breath? haha). Also, both belts look immensely thick, as if they're a few inches above his chest.
Also, perhaps have the sword angled more back over his shoulder, because at the moment it looks like he's waving hi to an old buddy.
Get shading and stuff done and this is a great orc portrait. It certainly fits in with the rest of them very well. Good job.

Re: retry orc (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
Those were good points, thanks. I think this is close to done, except for the sword which may need to be moved or removed.
EDIT: And I forgot the arm hair...

Re: retry orc (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
He is doing pretty well, but I think he needs arm hair!!
you don't have to add that if you can't, it's not that important. It would look cool though, and I think other people have done it already, so you can try to see how they did it.

As i see it, he does have arm hair. He's just wearing bracers over it.Drake General wrote:He is doing pretty well, but I think he needs arm hair!!you don't have to add that if you can't, it's not that important. Re: retry orc (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
There is arm hair on elbows too. It doesn't just end at a point of the upper arm, and then begin on the lower arm again. Plus, I was half joking.

Re: retry orc (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
you're shading is improving dramatically!
but your last orc is lacking a little anatomically... his torso looks very flat and has no shape at all. he needs a chest, a belly and hips!

Re: retry orc (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
Thanks for the comments. I was going to post what I thought was the final product, but as kitty says, there are a few mistakes and he needs a gut because orcs are stocky.
These are two others I was working on, they probably suffer a similar deficiency.

Re: retry orc (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
The warrior orc's hips are wandering off to the right there, looks like he's shakin' his thang.....

Re: retry orc (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
Heh, and the earrings probably aren't helping. I'll fix that.looks like he's shakin' his thang.....
This is an orc leader, the level 1 guy. The hands need work, but I think the position is OK.
Re: retry orc (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)
I think this guy is just about done, hopefully the hips are OK now.
Re: orcs (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising & other)
This topic might be of archeological interest to someone, but I don't want to risk having people point out that what I did in May was wrong because I already know that and have hopefully moved on. Please don't reply to this thread (can it be locked maybe?), I'll start a fresh one.
Thanks.
