It's a bit dark for my tastes. And the text refers to "Heir to the Throne" which makes it seem like it's the plot of the entire game. Some text (like what we have on the main page right now) that talks about all the possibilities of wesnoth would be better.

Make it brighter and it could look really good. I don't have flash activated, so I couldn't see it before.

It may not be perfect but it is an improvement over what we got so far IMHO.

Unfortunately, though, you've reused both the brick background that is on the current logo (by far the weakest part of it), and the current text itself, which is very likely to change. That hopefully won't be too hard to change, though.

Why is the text going to change?
I say if it's not going to be the official banner (with the new text and stuff), then keep the old title style.

IMHO too tall to be used on every page, even on 1024x786.
There is the Taskbar in MS Windows, two 24 pixel panels in GNOME (default) and I'm sure that KDE and Mac OS X also claims some vertical space. Usualy you also have a titlebar, statusbar, menubar and tooblar, possibly tabs as well. So somewhere between 150 and 250 pixels are already used by browser and desktop, add the 180 pixels for the banner and another 30 (depending on font size) for the menu below it. With a vertical resolution of 600 lines that leaves less then half of the screen for actual information, you get only 168 additional lines with 1024x786...
I say lose the brick background and BfW logo, then it would make a nice addiction to the main page.

Very good point.Artis wrote:IMHO too tall to be used on every page, even on 1024x786.
