I think of Lisar as a female warrior/leader, and her in armor looks a lot more appropriate than normal clothes (or the bikini's female warrior tend to wear).Elvish Pillager wrote:And why do all these Li'sar portraits have her in armor? She's got negative resistances to physical damage, what's this armor stuff about?
These do look good, but I think you're going to have difficulty convincing people to replace the current artwork for HttT, whereas many other campaigns (such as Dark Hordes and EI) still need portraits, and any submissions would be gladly used.

No matter how appropriate it is to her role, it still makes no sense with her stats.quartex wrote:I think of Lisar as a female warrior/leader, and her in armor looks a lot more appropriate than normal clothes (or the bikini's female warrior tend to wear).
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.
I decided she should be wearing armor is all. Probably cause I looked at the battle Princess sprite and got an idea and I drew it. I wasn't really worrying about her play characteristics when I drew it.
I think Lisar's nose is correct, she's not really at full profile so it doesn't go way out
Anyway, heres the Elvish Marshall from the first mission too. I experimented with the shine, and it looks really good. I might go back and change the shine of the other guys armor too.
Edit: Elvish Marshall, not captain...

Hmm...Maybe once the Content Server replaces the Campaign Server (http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic. ... 06&start=0 ) maybe their will be an option to upload/download artwork to replace existing artwork in campaigns. These do look awesome...Keep up the good work, after all free software is about scratching itches.

I think she looks good and you shouldn't change it. I see no reason to be so concerned about getting it as close as possible to the stats, better that the artist has a little freedom to draw it in his own vision. They tend to get better that way.Pickslide wrote:I decided she should be wearing armor is all. Probably cause I looked at the battle Princess sprite and got an idea and I drew it. Yeah, I still have delfadors lineartbut the CG part is what takes the longest. The lineart and scanning are the easiest part. I'll try to think of something more appropriate for talking though.
Yeah, I drew lineart in my sketchpad, scanned it in, traced it and colored it on the computer.
Jetryl, I don't think I kept any of those. I came back to the portraits, and I disliked them so I deleted the CG stuff and started from scratch x_X. Maybe someone else has them?
So do you guys think these should replace the current ones?

And I swear to defend
And we'll fight to the end
And I swear that I'll never be taken alive
And I know that we'll stand
And we'll fight for our land
And I swear that my bairns will be born free

I don't think Delfador and Li'sar are good enough... Li'sar is really different from both her unit graphics and description, and doesn't even look good that way IMO. Delfador just doesn't fit either...Pickslide wrote:So do you guys think these should replace the current ones?

Other than that, I really think they're high quality.

Anybody else have copies of pickslide's old portraits?Pickslide wrote:Jetryl, I don't think I kept any of those. I came back to the portraits, and I disliked them so I deleted the CG stuff and started from scratch x_X. Maybe someone else has them?
I had them installed in an older copy of wesnoth (being that I'm one of those freaks out there that, at any given time, has like 3 different versions of the thing on my computer), but unfortunately they got deleted when I nuked the old version.
I didn't expect the forum crash to nuke all our stuff.
