One more comment: The maps are too big. Especially for the second scenario. It's nice, but it's pretty boring moving units a long way. It's very conducive to save/loading because it's just too much of a bother to start over.
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

Agreed.

But, the scenario 2 map would IMO be good in multiplayer.

Huge multiplayer maps are even worse than huge campaign maps, IMO.

And with all the swamp... well... Undead win, Southerners pull a close second.

I just finished the third scenario in this campaign and I must say it's pretty cool. Although the lack of a unit for the leader is somewhat disturbing [Is this just me? There's no icon or image for the leader, so when he's highlighted it's only the hex that he is in. Presumably you haven't made the images yet? Or is this a problem with the coding? I'm using Mac OSX for what it's worth...]

I really like the idea of a saurian campaign, and the Naga allies were a nice touch. I agree with the comments on Scenario 2 - the map is unnecessarily huge, especially since you don't even engage the main Orc in the NW (at least I didn't). It's annoying to watch all those extra enemy moves, and they aren't really necessary for the scenario. You could probably chop the map in half, or 2/3 the current size. It's a nice map though.

I also really like the Saurian Skald. I like the unit concept and it helps flesh out the saurians a bit. It seems pretty logical that the lizards would have some poison ability...

So far nice campaign, good work!

It works fine for me, and I'm on OSX too...

I have done some tweaking (campaign server)... mostly, I made the huge swamp map smaller and reduced the gold for the "superpowered" enemies, so that you don't have to wait forever for them to move. I added a small Elvish outpost to Bay of Pearls to add to its interest. I decided the Dark Nagas are pretty nasty, so took away the ability to hire more -- you only get the two.

I toned down the leader's damage a bit-- is is right now, or was that too much. I like him being "heroic" but he was a little ridiculous before.

Any comments on balance/design before I go on to programming the next scenarios? (I have at least 3-4 more clearly in mind, and we'll have to see from there -- trying to start small.)

The current version works for displaying the leader for me. (As did the last one, for that matter.)

Well, I went further and added another scenario. I have no idea how balanced it is -- I can win pretty easily on "Easy", which should be a good sign.

In Enchanted Forest, death of Gwenhild doesn't make you loose. It's been a nice campaign so far but looking at the enemies in Enchanted Forest, I'm not so sure wheter I'll want to play that scenario at all.

You might want to change the bay of pearls map, since it has been changed on the main campaign too.

Yeah. I have to get back to work. Part of the problem with Enchanted forest was that the shapeshifting rabbits cost only one gold (which was a typo), giving the enemy infinite troops. Hopefully, I can do some balancing there on that map, rotate Bay of Pearls to look like the new map, and put another scenario in... Maybe during next week.

You should consider to ask for better graphics to replace those currently used in Enchanted Forest. They look cute but not really fitting. Maybe you'll even want to take out that map completely. :D

Error in scenario 3 (Freedem)

Post by anatelos »

The game exits with an error ( side not found ) at the beginning of turn 16.

As I've taken a look into the cfg-file (sorry), the surprise in turn 16 cannot show up correctly, it seems. As I finished the weak orc in the middle of the map one or two turns before, it looks like the error is related to this eradicated side.

Btw, as the status of the campaigns is maintained in the wiki, how to submit bugs - which are not related to the wesnoth program itself in first sight, but to a user scenario/campaign?

I can't seem to play the third level, Freedom. I get "load_game_failed: Invalid starting position (0,0) for the leader of side 4."

I like the saurian units you have done so far, especially the skald.

I hope you continue to make this campaign, it's good to have a saurian campaign.
