A small advice from a fellow newbie: until you feel strong and pro, choose a defensive, hard to get leader. With undead I suppose it's the sorcerer (he can, in single strike, kill a unit that gives your enemy an advantage and thus make them retreat and give you a second chance). For example, I always choose an assassin as northerners to slow down enemy's attack when it's getting dangerous.
Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?

Or use a really good leadership unit,Seargeant have 6 MP,abusing alot of the leader ship,he can pretty much support the whole wall that you using on the turn.

Or a White mage,he can, kill any skeleton or ghost on a single turn, and heal +8 hp,so basiccaly, a walking village.

I tend to suggest that beginners stay away from leaders with support specials because knowing when to bring your leader away from recruiting to use them is generally a little harder than bringing a leader out to attack, and they tend to be more fragile than combat-leaders.
