I would prioritize holding the swamp villages and such where bats get 60% defense. The flat villages where bats get 40% defense are easy to clean bats out of, anything will kill them unless they are very lucky. If he's really loving his bats that might be one of the rare times when it is good to buy archers.

I would put HI and cavalry to A.
-vs mostly skeletons/skeleton archers you want few HIs
-vs mostly skeletons/WCs/adepts you want some cavalry and theyr not too bad vs ghosts either.

Thanks for the work nelson.
as silent has already mentioned, mermen have 20% cold resistance and IMO this should be mentioned in the text.
