It's not all about bringing the menu. Sometimes, in older versions, I managed to get the recruit menu even if not in castle (some kind of bug, I suppose), but when trying to recruit I got the error "you an only recruit on castle" or similar. My guess is that even if you bring the menu the restriction would still exist.
It is ok to correct me if my English is too bad.

Hi again

To go on the druid topic :
- I've found a nice Wolf unit from the "invasion from the unknown" extension. It could be a cool animal to recruit for the druid.
- Thanks for all your ideas, some of them are great.
- Maybe there could be 3 types of druids :
- A "order" druid : wolf, bear, falcon... (and maybe heal ability when level 2 or 3)
- A "chaos" druid : scorpion, spider, monsters...
- A "spirit" druid : that invokes elements (fire/earth/water/air) that can be found in the BEEM extension
- I've absolutely no knowledge in WML or map creation. I could try to do it by myself, but it may last 6 month and won't be very nice. Soooo, if someone else wants to run this project, I'm okay :)

You are much much much more likely to get someone to help you if you attempt to learn WML yourself and try to develop this than relying on someone else to happen upon the idea and pick it up. Such people are out there, but most people usually have their own ideas that they would rather develop.

You will never learn WML unless you try.

As cool of an idea this is, it is just too powerful unless you make it campaign specific or make a whole new era with entirely different things it would just not balance through. it would make plague almost useless. but maybe if it were something weak, and i could see like maybe recruiting something different for each terrain.

but yeah really cool idea but needs work. :)

Ok then, I'll start something.

When it is ready, I will post a thread in the user-made content forum.

The campaign thread is here :

I used to have fun debugging in a way alot like this, so I have to put forward my method for animals.

Maybe having animals assigned to terrain or something? In ANL or GEB each terrain can have specific buildings (which are units) spawned on them, you could almost certainly do the same with animals.

I'm not sure how it would work out for game purposes, I just think there is something so appealing about needing to find the animal's habitat first...
Especially if it lived in rare terrain, part of the battle could be trying to reach that cave, for no other reason than you can recruit Giant Spiders in it, etc.

Just an idea from debug mode.

Buildings in ANL and GEB are terrain based. Not units. It only looks like they are "spawned" there because of terrain layers.

Ohhhhh, riight I remember now they're just differant types of villages....curse it, I must have been thinking of a differant empire building game...

Well, that was embarrasing, yay me I managed to look like an idiot. :|

OK, whatever empire game I was thinking about or the Path Of Elements add-on, the spawning idea still has evidence.
